Ordered a table and chairs and was very excited (Marietta). Delivery was made during renovation so I did not have much time to really inspect the table. BIG MISTAKE! I couldn't help noticing at first that the distressed white legs looked dirty and smudged, not distressed. I actually tried to clean them up. No luck. I then noticed that the distressed top was extremely distressed with very little finish. Also there were huge knots that were about 1/2 inch deep. If liquid gets in I will never be able to get it clean, it would puddle. The ultimate deciding factor was when I ran my hand across the top and got a huge splinter. Someone could get really hurt not to mention ruining clothing. I called the store in Stoughton and was told there would be a pick up charge unless we brought it back ourselves, we had already paid a delivery charge. The ultimate insult was when I was told we could not get our money back and would be issued a store credit. They sold us a defective product and get around it by saying that tops vary, however the floor model was beautiful. The clerk actually said they had to replace it to make it more presentable. We are to receive a $150.00 rewards credit, a July promo, which I am still waiting for and it has been eight weeks since the purchase. Luckily we found another dining set that we really liked. However, it was back ordered until mid September. We got a call that it was in early two weeks ago but we could not get it until September 4 because they only come to our area once every two weeks and their truck was full on that Friday. There is an additional delivery charge of $99.00. Well I am cautiously excited and hope our new set is satisfactory, I will inspect it closely. Boston Interiors is a beautiful store, however, we feel that we were treated unfairly. Really inspect your delivery before the drivers leave. Reject any item you are not pleased with and send it back. A store credit will be issued if you accept it. A issue we did not fully understand. I have always bought furniture from Boston Interiors and been happy with the company. My recent order, however, has been a disaster! The coffee table came gauged, they said it was just distressed but they replaced it. The one they replaced it with was gauged too, again after calls with them stating these were not distress marks but human made, they replace the coffee table again and assured me they would look at it before they delivered the 3rd table. They did not look at it and actually sent me the 1st table again with the gauged filled in with brown....it looked worse patched then the original gauge. BI insisted it was a different table but the gauge marks were so distinctive, and I had pictures to prove it, they finally replaced it. The 4th table they did inspect and it was fine.
Additionally I ordered extra sunbrella fabric for couch and the material that arrived was NOT sunbrella and was the wrong fabric. They argued with me that it was the correct fabric until they looked at an enlarged picture of the 2 fabrics and admitted it was not even close. They reordered the fabric and it just arrived and while it is sunbrella, it is the wrong color! This has been such a horrible experience with this organization that I cannot imagine EVER ordering anything...
Read moreStaff was great. We had bought a night table, color not in stock, so special order. Came in quickly (4 wks vs predicted 6-7) and color looked awful in the room after we picked it up. Lovely salesperson at Natick, who agreed to order the lighter gold oak one that I thought it came in. It was in stock at the warehouse, so we went to return the original and get the gold oak one. They have the one we returned in stock (“we stock this one”), and the new one was the exact same color as the one we were returning (my husband was smart enough to open the box). Turns out there isn’t a gold color at all. And the one we bought was in stock. We picked out another one. We just want to be done w this. I have bought a lot over the years at BI, great staff. I think you are fudging things- nothing is in stock, almost everything is a special order (more expensive, and we give up money when we return). And no service recovery. My fault I picked out the wrong color, but person who ordered the replacement clearly misguided me (and ordered the SAME one as a replacement). And no service recovery.
