Food Lion — Local services in Sumter

I only ever had one problem here at this location. I was a couple of stores down handling business, and my mother walked over to grab a few things. She came back and told me that they told her that her card was not working, which was odd. After I got done handling the business that I needed to do, I walked back over and went to the register where she initially checked out. The cashier still had her bag and I said to go ahead and bring it back up and I’ll pay for it and see what the issue with her card was later. When I tried to pay for it, my Apple Pay didn’t go through. The cashier was just standing there very nonchalant and with a blank facial expression. I told her I tried three different cards at that point and nothing went through. She says in a very matter-of-fact way, ‘the Internet is down, your cards won’t work’ ….. gee.. if only we knew that from the beginning 🙄 she didn’t seem like she was mentally present. Cashier #0205 cashed me out and she was just so friendly and pleasant. In these days where employees are so hard to find, it was nice seeing so many at this particular Food Lion which is closest to our home. Some were cleaning the floor and stocking the shelves. Sumter may not have much by way of shopping but this place is outstanding. Kudos to all the employees that show up for work and take pride in what they do. I appreciate you!!! Theres never been a food lion that ever impressed me much and of all grocery stores has to be my least fav and normally I'd only go as a last resort. So here as for this particular store I'd out this right there with just about any other one and it's not great and it almost seems like the whole store needs a shower and deodorant. Meaning no it doesn't smell bad and it's not overly dirty it just some how seems kinda run down and like some walmarts give you that feeling but just by going there you feel like the first thing you need to do when you get home is take a shower...well this is one of those...
