Jung Garden Center — Local services in Sun Prairie

I really wanted to like this place and support this local business, but I’ve had problems with so many plants and products here.

During the summer, I purchased some tomato and pepper plants as extras in case my seedlings didn’t do well during the transition, and these didn’t grow at all. They completely stunted workout dying. I have brand new beds of soil and my high mowing seeds and seedlings that I started inside did fantastic. Their seeds also don’t do that well compared to other brands.

I also purchased plants for a butterfly garden later and these also did terribly, while seeds or plants from other sources flourished.

Also, I bought indoor planter potting soil for a couple plants I received. The soil was riddled with little gnats and insects. This was from a small bag off of their shelf inside the building…

If you need a couple last minute supplies, this place is okay. But I don’t recommend vegetable plants here, especially...

Today my family and I were excited to purchase a couple of fruit trees to add to our small orchard. Unfortunately, while picking out a pear tree, my 3 year old walked over to a wagon and began to touch it. I called him back and before he could even react, a male employee began to raise his voice and repeatedly told my 3 year old that the wagon wasn't a toy. He was instantly scared and I called him to me to comfort him. I find it unnecessary to raise your voice to a small child who wasn't even moving the wagon, just simply touching it as he explored the center for the first time. We put the items back and left as we didn't feel comfortable purchasing anything. Apart from this unfortunate situation, the same employee had his pants very low on his back half and his bottom...

Their replacement policy is a great idea, but sadly it is a lie. I would take your business to a family owned greenhouse over this business. I bought a Hydrangea last year that was looking a bit rough but the store employee told me if it didn't work out that I could get a replacement. Well the $120 tree literally snapped off at the bottom over the winter so I brought in the top half (tag still attached as I was skeptical to begin with) and the clerk informed me that if I didn't have a receipt they couldn't do anything for me. I handed her the snapped off tree that I spent way too much for and she literally had no apology or anything to say.
