I had 2 back surgeries and was using a walker pretty frequently Prior to going to crossfit. I had done all the physical therapy and gentle exercises I could, but knew I had to work on getting my core stronger. I had tried other gyms but the downfall was not having the knowledge or the confidence to use those machines on my own, safely. Prior to going to crossfit, I talked with Marisol about my limitations and fears and she assured me that everything could be modified in a safe and realistic manner to suit my needs. Fast forward 17 months, I have NEVER FELT BETTER. I have lost 50lbs, but more importantly, my back is stronger than it's ever been. Regardless of these being group workouts, it feels like Marisol is our own personal coach. She is always there to give me any modifications and to make sure I don't overdo it. There is no "requirement" to max out or lift heavier. I always do what is comfortable to me and safe, and I still see results. Are there other gyms nicer looking? Maybe. But there is nothing like having people who care about you making sure that you are doing the work SAFELY, and cheering you on as you progress daily. I use to make fun of those kipping swing and kipping pull-ups and still they crack me up because I still canāt do oneā- so much respect for my kipper people lol!! It is the most physically challenging and rewarding thing I've ever done and motivates me to start determined. Schedule is flexible in the morning and afternoon and Iām able to program my days within my work schedule and family. Coach Marisol and Bear are overall amazing coaches!
Three takeaways: It's a community, fun and supportive!! It's mentally challenging and mentally rewarding (Humbling at times) but for the most part I feel like I've accomplished something after every workout. We take pride on our battle scars but itās a reminder of the hardest WODs we got through for that day!

Ā Ā Ā Read moresadly this gym does not offer much. workouts are not planned in advance or they don't seem to be. daily 1 rep maxes with little regard for form and constant pushing to add weights. forcing RX when it clearly limits the benefits of doing a met.con. these coaches are resistant and even hostile when asked about technique and training methods. the coaches are unprofessional and constantly talk poorly about their "members" (they don't view them as athletes) to other "members" during workouts. some of the coaches are have so little experiance/training that they often use youtube videos to instruct on proper form during classes. O crossfit is an amazing sport for anyone at any level to achieve optimal overall fitness....but crossfit lower valley has some serious work to do in order to compare to any other crossfit gym. I guess you get what you pay for and the membership is less than half the cost of a decent crossfit gym. if you choose to use this gym know that crossift should be way more than...
