Planet Fitness — Local services in Sunnyside

UPDATED: the manager and VP reached out to me and assured me that the dress code follows corporate standards, and a sports bra is ok to wear.

Original post: I have attended planet fitness in multiple locations, and unfortunately felt singled out at this location and borderline harassed. I followed the dress code posted online as well as for this particular club location (they have a separate dress code) and was told that I could not wear a sports bra and sweat pants. Unfortunately when I asked where in the dress code this was listed, none of the staff members could show me where this was listed. I was told to “look online”, and the Planet Fitness website specifically states that my attire followed dress code. Other male members were wearing muscle shirts and “stringers” and were not approached to change their attire, but I was. I am a healthcare provider simply trying to get in a workout while serving one of the small hospitals nearby. Really enjoy my weekday mornings at Planet Fitness in Sunnyside, Maria and the rest of the morning Staff do a great job of keeping the gym clean and comfortable. My only complaint would be a lack of some of the equipment that already exists in the gym. I come early on days when I use the Hammer Strength Smith machine, so my chances to find one that isn't occupied are better. I do aerobics every day for at least 30 minutes right in front of the Smith machines and witness several people during that time walk past to see if any of the equipment is available, more often than not, they have to find something else to workout on. I would really like to see additional Smith machines in the gym, to replace aerobic equipment that is seldom used. Keep up the Great...

The amenities and equipment are never properly maintained. The massage beds are currently out of order and only one hydro massage lounger is operating there are several of the machines for workouts none functional ie. Row machines are down,several tredmills are out of order as well as 3 or more Alypticals there is no reason. This is unacceptable. I pay monthly to have a clean and fully functional gym to use.. amenities included.. and yet the money to have equipment repaired isn't being used..
