Harps Food Stores — Local services in Sunset

Janise's is a very nice grocery store that is also well laid out. When you walk in you come to the produce section, then it wraps around with some fresh deli and other food products, think they have plate lunches etc there too to your right and left starting the isles is candy, then your bread and crackers and can goods so on and so forth. Next coming up is your meats and such, I like getting even the simplest thing of ground meat here cause even though the rolls of ground meat like at Walmart, Super1 etc are less expensive... You get a lesser quality of meat in reality in which is cooked down and you end up having less meat pounds vs with a higher quality meat pretty much leaving behind just enough fats for you to have a chance of not drying out your meat. They have cokes and stuff even a little baby section across from that area and then last but not least the other side of the store wraps around to your dairy to start and then a delicious looking isle of frozen goods... Ice cream etc(I just wish they would carry chocolate chip ice cream... The heck with mint c.c.); I can only find that at Piggly Wiggly and Super1:/. Anyway, it's a fine grocery store, some select items are a little more than I'd like to pay but beings I live in between Sunset and Church Point, unless it's a huge difference or I'm going towards Lafayette or Opelousas period, then it's not worth worrying about and you know your getting...

I went to harps May 13th 2025 after dropping my kids to school about 7:10 I got some bacon and some grits I seen the grits was kind of dried out so I ask for a small cup of butter and I told her if she didn't have the butter she could us liquid butter that would be fine I couldn't Really see what she was putting on my grits i seen it was liquid in a bottle thinking it was butter so I made the purchase and drove home got home started eating it Noticing I'm almost done it was not butter it was grease I've been sick all morning throwing up and my stomach in nots its either from the grease or I have food Poisoning I tried calling the store but the manager was always busy I will never be going back there again They need to check they employees more carefully trying to deceive the customers I really love going shopping there but...

I have been ordering barbeque plate lunches every Sunday like clockwork for years. I have always called in my order and went and picked them up. Yesterday I called in my order and the girl that took the order did not make the plate lunches and when I went to pick them up she laughed and thought it was very funny - they were sold out so I had to leave with no food. I had invited people over to my home for a Sunday get together and I had to go home and tell them I had no food. I told management and management did nothing like it was no big deal. I have been going out of my way to shop here for a while to support a local grocery store but after my experience there yesterday I will be taking my $200 - $300 week grocery bill...
