My husband and I came here on 7/13/19 , the day of Hurricane Barrys landfall after working on my home (before the 12 pm curfew) at 10:40. After placing and paying for our order to go we sat on a bench inside waiting and watching as others came after us, ordered their food and left. Finally, after 37 minutes we're handed a bag and went to our car only to check it and see its not at all what we ordered! We bring it back inside and the girl asks to see my ticket....says "oh, I'm sorry" at which time a customer comes in to pick up her order she phoned in and was the food we just brought back inside and she hands it to her! Then she goes in the back with my ticket, comes back out 7 minutes later and says "it'll be just a few minutes". We sat down on the bench again....12 minutes later she hands us a bag of food saying "thanks". This time we check it and before going out side and my baked potato was'nt there! We called her back over.. again she wants my ticket (which I had to ask her to return twice before) and looks at a menu saying "oh...yes, you do get 2 sides with your order"... Uh...yes I do, I paid enough..and do you think I'm lying? At this point it cost me $22.70 . 56 minutes, the curfew is near and we're returning to our new home in Grand Prairie, we're hungry and still have no food! We sat another 7 minutes when my husband overheard a seated customer complaining about the breakfast sausage that was brought to them...that it was ice cold in the centre! That was it... my husband called the girl over, and quietly told her we wanted a refund and be on our way. She didn't seem happy, but we certainly weren't either but didn't make a scene. After trying for a few minutes to reverse the charges...she finally got it done, hands us the receipt...takes the bag and flippantly tosses a thanks over her shoulder like we were a problem! Seriously? We were there over an hour...very hungry and all other fast food places had stopped serving because the curfew was just a few minutes away. I will never ever go there again! What kind of restaurant treats a customer this way and watches them leave hungry knowing there are no other options available and a storm in the way? They don't deserve 1 star...Perhaps the waitress and the cooks in the back should quit carrying on with each other, stay off the phone, and quit putting (friends /family?) phone orders they personally took (yes, we heard it all) before customers who were there and had already...
Read moreThe food is always very well prepared & delicious. Unfortunately the waitstaff is always extremely slow with very poor service. At times it has taken up to 10 minutes or more before the waitress showed up at my table - add another 20 minutes to get your food & now your lunch break is nearly spent!! One day I called ahead in effort to place my order before my arrival (my office is 5 minutes away) & explained to the waitress I was in route & trying to save time. She asked me to hold. I pulled into the parking lot still on hold - decide to fill up at the gas pump & am still on hold (I can hear the talking in the background). Park my vehicle and walk into a 99 percent empty dining room & see the waitress casually chatting with the cook. I’m still on hold & I see the waitress reach in front of her and hear the click as she hung up the phone. I just looked at her in astonishment & held up my phone,. She realized she had just hung up on me after leaving me on hold for 9 minutes. She immediately began apologizing across the dining room. As I looked for a place to sit, it became apparent there were no clean tables & after walking around for 30 seconds, I sat down at an un-wiped table. The waitress came over and apologized for leaving me on hold & stating she was busy & forgot about the call & then began to apologize that all the tables were dirty, stating the waitress had left them like that from the night before and also stated she’d only been working there a week. She didn’t bother to wipe my table - so I asked for a napkin and a glass of water and wiped it down myself. But as always the food was good this...
Read moreI haven't actually seen inside of Huddle house, except what I could see from the parking lot. The first time I tasted Huddle House's biscuits and gravy I finally knew what true love is 💕💕💕😘 Let me elaborate on this.
I was hankering for sausage gravy and biscuits and didn't have what I needed to make the dish. I opened the DoorDash app and searched for "biscuits sausage gravy" and the first suggestion was Huddle House. I scrolled to Dollar General to see if all the ingredients were available. Of course they were not. I started looking at the other stores. They were either too expensive or did not have everything. So I scrolled back to Huddle House and started checking out the menu. I decided on 3 sausage and gravy biscuits; adding extra biscuits, hash browns and several strips of bacon. I went to my cart to see my total with a feeling of defeat. I mean maybe I had encountered a glitch or a promotion on either party's end but the total cost was $0.00. What a blessing.
But wait! There's more!! When the order arrived it was so much food. 4 adults and one kid ate biscuits and gravy for breakfast and for supper for two nights. Also there were sausage patties and scrambled eggs and lot of hash browns. The bacon was missing. That was a lot of food to replace the missing strips of bacon. Before I even smelled it tasted it I just had a feeling it would taste horrible and so hence the price and abundance. I fell hard for the biscuits and gravy. I felt unworthy of that blessing. Free, freshly cooked food in such an abundance. I give Huddle House...
