I just stepped off the boat and my brother won't stop crying. We started off the trip normally, however I thought it was a little strange that they didn't tell us their names. We then spent OUR ENTIRE TRIP TROLLING. As a fishing business owner and as someone who has a lot of experience fishing, it was so weird that they wouldn't try something else. The captain and the mate didn't talk to us AT ALL the entire trip. We hooked one fish and the mate actually reeled it in for 3 minutes, I timed him, before I asked if there was a fish on. Once I asked, he gave use the rod. Additionally, the trip had a bad vibe because of the terrible chemistry of the captain and mate. Before we even stepped on the boat, New Moon, they asked us how we were going to pay. They said we could only use venmo. After I insisted on credit card, they agreed. Then, they asked how much we wanted to tip them, BEFORE WE EVEN GOT ON THE BOAT. We tipped 100 and they were not happy.

My WARNING is this. I am not upset about the fishing or the fact that we didn't catch much. That, for the most part, is or should be out of their control. BEWARE OF THE BAD ATTITUDE AND CHEMISTRY OF THE CAPTAIN AND CREW OF NEW MOON. Please, please don't make the mistake we did and fish with them.

ALL their other reviews, except for 1, make them out to be amazing people. It was because of those reviews that we booked them. Maybe the reviews are about a different captain and mate or maybe they just had people write those reviews. Don't fish with them. This is from the week of...

Years ago I convinced my wife to start fishing and it led us from fresh water to saltwater. Ever since then she has maintained a passion for all the above but saltwater remains deep in her heart and we have fished many times targeting many species with wonderful success. We lost our first mate that we had helped us so much in the past and needed to find a new captain and mate so we started all over and stumbled into the New Moon captain Jack…it took me 5 minutes of conversation to figure out this was our new charter captain…he talked a big game and was very personable so we agreed on our first trip with him and his son. I can only say that he could back up his talk with nothing but results. He put us on the fish we asked for and kept us going the entire trip with extreme knowledge of how and where to fish. My wife caught a huge bucket list fish (sail fish) and our son caught one that was possibly 12lbs from a state record. Our grandson caught many fish and is now part of our fishing team…I mean literally he’s hooked. Our son’s girlfriend caught many species as well. Our time with Captain Jack has created a lifetime of memories for my family and we will definitely call him for all our fishing trips from now on. If you are wanting to enjoy your time fishing and actually catch fish…don’t get distracted by other adventures…do yourself a favor and call New Moon fishing charters, there is no other that compares.
