Sunday, Nov 2, 2014. The traffic guard at the park was determined to ruin our experience rather than making sure we had a nice time while obeying park regulations!!! We parked and my husband walked 10 meters to the trash bin in front of us. Then the security guard showed up and checked that we had no parking receipt on the dashboard. We told her we did not know we had to pay and she showed us the sign right next to us that read we had to prepay for parking. This sign, by the way, is facing the inside of the parking lot, so there is no way it can be seen on the way in, it visible only once you have parked. We told her it was our first time at this park and that we had just stepped out of our vehicle. As my husband headed to the paying booth she said she did not see any receipt and that was all she cared for. I tried to talk her into common sense, but to no avail. I kept telling her my husband was paying for parking, but she remained oblivious to my words. Ironically (or better say God's way), the same exact time on the ticket she issued is on the parking receipt as proof of our telling the truth. I will more than gladly dispute this ticket in Court. Good quality kites and accessories. We came here on a very windy day, almost too windy. We bought a big 6.5' kite and the staff set up our kite for us. It was so windy that it proved to be quite a challenge to reel the kite back in. Eventually the spool slipped out of my hand and the kite flew away across the intercostal. But the staff were so nice, that they saw what happened and gave us another small kite to fly for free! Amazinginly, we ended up finding the original kite later that day in a tree at Oleta River State Park, completely undamaged, and were able to retrieve it. Skyward Kites is an awesome destination ! So interesting in a beautiful setting with the ocean near and in a huge park. You can even book a Kite birthday party and they have all kinds of kites. Also lots of other events and even bubble guns for the little ones as well as lots of other interesting toys.
