Premonition Pizza is reopened as Bay Pizzeria. The new owner, Desmond Berry, is maintaining Neal's pizza dough, sauce and toppings recipe but the menu has changed to include a few new meats, such as UP Cudighi sausage, and there are Italian style sandwiches, including a Cudighi sausage, are added. Gone are the tasty desserts he made from scratch which will be missed. I have a few of the original pizza I keep on hand in the freezer (bacon and onion, and, sausage and roasted red peppers) and bought one of each, which I'll be doing a side by side comparison. The new pizza sauce seemed sweeter and the crust, while good, had a different texture. None the less, I'll see how they compare on Pizza Friday and will post my assessment. Also, the arcade room is gone and indoor dinning is being added. Hope the quality and consistency will be maintained, but that may be difficult as Neal was making all the pizza and that provided the quality and consistency.
Here is the Leelanau Ticker article: Bay Pizzeria opens in Suttons Bay Owners of Bay Burrito in Suttons Bay recently acquired the nearby Premonitions Pizza & Arcade and have now rebranded and reopened the pizza parlor as Bay Pizzeria. Located at 100 Cedar Street, the restaurant held a soft opening over the weekend and is open for business again starting today (Wednesday).
Bay Pizzeria has ânot officially established our operating hours or days as of yet,â according to a recent Facebook post, but will be open 3-9pm this week from Wednesday to Sunday. Based on that post, Bay Pizzeria is sharing staff with Bay Burrito, a seasonal restaurant that closes down around Labor Day each year. Many Bay Burrito staff have reportedly expressed interest in continuing employment at Bay Pizzeria during the offseason, hence Bay Pizzeriaâs plans âto establish operational hours and daysâ after Labor Day. In the meantime, Bay Pizzeria will be sharing its hours on social media at the outset of each week.
As part of the rebrand, Bay Pizzeria has rolled out a new menu that includes pizzas, calzones, salads, sandwiches, breadsticks, and cheese bread. In addition to dine-in service, the restaurant has also launched a delivery option and is already touting itself as âthe only delivery available in...
Read moreI enjoyed the food at Premonitions, not so much their customer service. So I thought I'd give the new guys a try when they said they are using the same recipes and ingredients.
My first visit was for calzones. It had maybe 2 tablespoons of filling, all shoved into one corner. The other end was still wet uncooked dough. I paid for extra marinara sauce, but it was missing from the order.
They had just opened, and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I tried them again a week later for pizza and breadsticks. The breads sticks are supposed to have marinara included, but again, it was missing from my order. The pizza was soggy with sauce on one side and had very little on the other end. The dough had little flavorlike it needed salt. That's 2 strikes in a week.
I may be back to try the Greek salad because it isn't available at other local restaurants. My hunch is that it will be...
Read moreWe wanted roman wheel but it was closed and like fools we thought this would fill the void. We thought it couldnât be much worse considering itâs barely a block away⊠like I said⊠we were fools. We have had better pizza at Little Caesarâs. We have had better pizza at Chuck E. Cheese. We have had more authentic pizza at gas stations. I donât just mean it tastes better at a gas station, I mean you are closer to the spirit of Italian cousine waiting in line at a 711 to get a one dollar slice of cold day-old pizza than you are eating at bay pizzeria. You are better off diving into lake and eating sand. The breadsticks were bad and thatâs like one ingredient. My middle school cafeteria had better pizza. I am shocked...
