I have gone to this store for many years. For the first time I see a very competent young woman, African American very petite running this store. She is a hard worker always on time and runs the cash register and puts away stock at the same time. I believe she may be the assistant mgr. She should not be put in a situation like this just to keep her job. She is very dedicated and works diligently to keep this store operating smoothly. I have gone in the store many days and she is alone hustling by herself. By OSHA safety law she should not be working alone for safety purposes. This woman keeps the store clean and orderly. She is disciplined, very professional, respectable and provides outstanding customer service. This young woman should be manager of this store. On the other hand, the young man whose name begin with a S. that supposed to be store manage is never in the store. I am sure no one that works in this store will tell you the truth about your store manager for fear of retaliation. He comes in daily five to 6 hours late or doesnāt come in at all. He does no work but sits around and bullies this young woman and others in the stores. I can't understand why he has not been fired. Sue Corbin District Manager If you are wondering why your store is not thriving it is because this man does no work and does not set an example as a store manager. Sue Corbin you would not know this because no one checks up on this man. He is getting paid as store manager and rarely present. Man is he fooling you and corporate. I am sure this is not the first complaint about this man. Why are you not listening? What does his man have on you that you will not address customers concerns and make this man accountable? If you want to see your store thrive, promote this young woman to store manager. I know she has not been at your store for a long time, yet I believe she is eager to learn. Providing her with additional training and hiring staff that will work with her, you can have a productive thriving store. If these issues are not addressed, your store will continue not to thrive and the website reviews will reflect...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to frequent this store but will never go back. Was browsing one day when I went to turn a circular display to see what was on the other side, and a poorly placed display that was leaning against it fell over. I immediately began picking up all of the small cosmetic brushes and other items that fell. I did not put everything back on the pegs, but did stack everything neatly. I was then on my way to the cash register to pay for the items in my basket, and let someone know what happened when a woman verbally accosted me.
"You were just going to walk away and not say anything weren't you" she yelled. I turned around, looked at her and said I beg your pardon? She said that she "watched the whole thing, and that I had purposely destroyed her display and that I was walking away." I told her that I was on my way to the register to explain what happened, but she cut me off and complained that I only set the merchandise down instead of replacing all of the items on each individual peg. She then started telling other customers that I had "intentionally destroyed the display." She then told me not to come back and sarcastically wished me a blessed day.
If she was watching and saw what happened she would have seen that it was an accident. As a store employee she should have come and asked what happened, and assisted with the clean up. Needless to say I told her that she could keep the items that I had planned on purchasing and that I would never return.
Then I called Dollar General to relate my experience, and had to call back 2 more times, never got a call from anyone in corporate until the 5th call at which point I decided that there are plenty of other retailers and Dollar General, where mots items are generally over a dollar, will never see my business again. Too bad, because it was convenient but I will go out of my way rather than...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store has gone down hill. It is not female friendly either. We went today, & no one was behind us. I decided to download the DG app to my phone since "at the time" no one else was in line. By the time I did, there was a man pushing his cart up into mine. Then there was many more Men in line all of a sudden not wearing masks and bearing down on us. I am now a G7 Fed, & this place is a rip off. The man was belligerent, as were others and then all these other men got involved, "all bc he stated his kids were in the car", I said why are they since it's 80+ degrees out. And the women behind counter did not open another register to help these men. They started yelling obscenities and I expressed to back off bc they were harassing a Federal employee and I was packing, it was in my car though in trunk bc of laws. The men started saying terrible things, swearing, calling names. It's not safe there and the women did nothing. If you are a woman it is not woman friendly And I've waited Far longer for men buying 1 item and no one ganged up on them like they did me and my elderly mother. It's not safe. Stay vigilant. Stay out of this place, it's never properly stocked, there are rows of items not put away. It didn't used to be this way. I will never return. I feel violated as a woman. I am disgusted by the way men and others are behaving now. This world has lost its civility. Men are not men anymore. They are cowards. Not like in my dad's time (airforce) RIP, or grandad's Naval Airforce, and my maternal grandad RAF. We should reinstate the draft. Men have gone soft and Dollar General is not woman friendly. Stay away if you value your safety. The African American manager did nothing, she...
