We had a power outage in the area, and this was the only Chinese open in Waterford. We came 30 minutes before closing, and the owners were very nice and went above and beyond for us. Being vegan, they made accommodations for me.
I ordered the veggie lo mein, and the portion size was huge. The flavor was pleasant but could have used a little more garlic and spices. There were no dinner combination options that came with fried rice and egg roll or soup. I ate my fill, and had enough to last me for a late night snack and lunch the next day.
My partner ordered either Sesame or General Tsau Chicken, and it came with white rice. He said the flavor was good and portion Very Generous. We both ordered veggie egg rolls a la carte and pop. The spring/ egg rolls were a bit too sweet, and the plum sauce was pale yellow instead of classic orange. I would not get those again.
My boyfriend devoured the chicken dish and still had leftovers!!!
The owners let us sit there and eat from the carry out containers, and told us to take our time. It was very nice and friendly.
I later noticed that they had Tofu stir fries available which I overlooked. I think I would have been better off with one of those.
Our total was over $30, like 34-37-- including the drinks. Usually we pay $20-36 dollars and we order combination plates.
I would possibly order from them again but would specify preference for more garlic and spices for my vegan options.
The fact that the owners were so nice and accommodating, letting us sit there and eat after closing, and having to cook my complicated Veg option after a long day tells me that they take pride in their restaurant, and would go above and beyond to accommodate any future...

What I had was two dinner combos, both general Tso's
egg roll tasted terrible, possibly the worst egg roll I have ever eaten! my egg roll was mushy, other egg roll was crunchy, we opened it up with a knife, and the inside was 0 beansprouts, and all catfood, well it looked like. I am not sure what it was. I took a bite and that was the last bite. just an awful taste.
Low mien noodles, tasted pretty ok, just a lack of flavor. Very bland
general Tso's- where I was most disappointed. The flavor actually didn't remind me of Chinese at all. they were huge pieces of fried chicken, so huge you didn't even know if it was cooked all the way though before you took a bite out of it so I was skeptical about taking more bites without double checking. I finished one peice that's all I could take. the flavor reminded me of a backyard BBQ sauce with a buffalo sauce look to it. it didn't even taste like general Tso's, if I had to close my eyes and guess what type of food I am eating, I would think American BBQ. I was looking for the awesome Chinese flavor, which this dish was missing.
The only reason I decided to try this place out, because my other Chinese spot if closed, Szechuan gourmet, I wanted to get my weekly kick of Chinese but they are closed for the Easter week. This place does not come close to it. If you are looking for amazing general Tso's, try Szechuan gourmet, you will never look back, oh, they have delicious egg rolls there too...
Read moreI wanted to be excited about this place because it's so close, but I just can't! It was waaaaay less than average. A. Crab Rangoon had no crab... and I'm not saying it only had a little... there was literally nothing but cream cheese. B. Orange chicken was HUGE bites that were hard and the chicken was dry. In addition, the sauce tasted burned and it was thin and dark orange with specks in it. The only halfway decent dish was the Kung pao shrimp. So it was $43 plus a $7 tip that I wish I hadn't given because when I asked for water while waiting, she charged me another $1 and change for a small generic water. When i brought it home, 2 of us ate a few bites and tossed the rest and the Kung pao was only half eaten, and then we heated leftovers. Im Very Disappointed. I'm just not ok with ordering a item and not getting what I'm paying for. She could have said.. only cream cheese wonton and no crab Rangoon right now! But she chose to be deceitful. Bad form! I will...
