I love Costco, but apparently some of the staff are on a power trip at this store. Multiple times I have encountered “Jamesson” at the register and he has made rude comments about my Costco card, others I was with, or just generally gross and inappropriate statements. The first time this happened I was checking out with my husband and sister, but we were splitting the cost of groceries so my sister checked out with some stuff first. Jamesson began to lecture us about how “it’s amazing how many people can get by using a single card” and asking, in the rudest way, “who the actual card holder is.” I told him it was mine and that we were splitting the cost of groceries. Apparently this was unacceptable because he continued making rude comments quieter and quieter while I was paying for my portion of groceries. This dude literally has so little control over his life he goes on a power trip as a Costco cashier ?? The most recent time this happened was today (lucky me to run into him again on a busy Saturday shopping day). My husband held up the card to be scanned and was met with “whose card is this?????” As I am standing right there waiting to pay. I said that the card was mine. And he thought it was appropriate to say to my husband, “oh, I thought you were going to say ‘that’s my card! I’ve just been going through some changes recently.’” (For reference, I am clearly a cis woman and my husband is clearly a cis man, so I guess it’s okay to make trans jokes at your place of work now???). I said that this is my card, we are married, I guess I’ll just hold the wallet next time so he won’t be confused. He replied “it’s my job to make sure everyone has their own card. You get two cards with a membership, so. Have a good day.” And then physically turned his body away from me like the conversation was over and I needed to move along. If Jamesson is the norm, I’ll go to...
Read moreWe've been members for a couple years now and not real happy with them. So a few months ago they talked us into upgrading to an elite membership to "try it out for a few dollars". So we agreed because we expected it to work kinda like Sam's club. If you’re not happy with the new level, you can easily downgrade when you renew. AT THE REGISTER! Well, that's NOT how it worked. We got to Costco today. We didn't know our membership had expired. The lady at the door never said anything, and neither did the guy ringing us out until AFTER he had finished ringing everything in. Then he told us it had expired. On top of that he said he couldn't "downgrade" us at the register. Why not? You can upgrade but not downgrade at the register? On top of this all, the cashier (Thomas) said we had to just pay for the elite membership and the next time we came in we could go to the membership desk and get our money back. Really? So I had to pull over to the side while my husband went to the membership desk to renew. The service desk told my husband that Thomas could have downgraded us, he just didn't want to cause that would affect his commission. Costco. Why are you paying cashiers commissions? This creates a dishonest environment and REALLY pissed off customers. We very nearly just walked out. Our cold stuff had to sit in a hot store for much longer than necessary. There's no call for that. None at all. The cashier manager needs to quit backing the lies and make sure his cashiers are doing the honest, right thing. Brandon, do you really think your customers are that stupid? Well, news flash. Were not. Get it together, Costco. I'm considering just sticking with Sam's, especially since I can just Scan and go there. Don't have to deal with the long lines at the registers or the high pressure sales and lies of...
Read moreThe building is nice and they have a ton of options. Some items are cheaper at Sam's but you just have to compare.
All of the workers have been super nice except for one at customer service said something snippy two separate times. I believe her name was Kim. They have a membership line and a return line and one day I was standing in the membership line as the sign said and with attitude I was told the line was on the other side (returns) and so I asked her what this sign was for and I was blown off. The next time I stood in the return line as I was told last time and the people started to line up behind the membership line which was empty when I walked up. I was 2 people from the front in the return line and she looked at me and asked if I had a return and I said no I'm here for membership and she responded something with attitude about how that line is over there. I then responded saying I was informed to go over here 2 days ago and that that sign was not correct by you so I was just doing what I was told last time and then she responded something back but I don't remember. I then had to get behind all the people in membership that all showed up after me to then wait to talk with an employee. If they aren't using the two lines, they need to move the one single pole sign to eliminate the confusion. The other customer service workers though have been nothing but friendly and super helpful which is great.
I have not seen a single Halloween item or bag of candy at this specific property over the last few weeks but they've had an aisle of Christmas stuff up for a month already and moved it up to the front of the store this week. I thought that was kind of weird.
The lines go quick and they have a ton of registers going...
