Wharf Casual Seafood Mahan — Restaurant in Florida

My wife and I just went to this Wharf to have dinner and had a horrific experience We’ve eaten here many times in the past I placed our order and proceeded to wait 40 minutes and watched many people who came in after me get their food When I inquired to a wait staff I was told they were just backed up and never asked my name or what I ordered I waited another 15 minutes and finally went to front desk and asked where my food was and why I wasn’t given a number I didn’t have a receipt because the machine I paid on couldn’t give me one, so I asked the guy who took my order where was my order and he said that I ordered it to go but I never did since we’d been sitting waiting for an hour, then he said he must have misheard me with no apology, I asked where the order was and he said it’s been sitting in the back the whole time, I asked for my money back and he refused, I took the bag and went back to our table and took out the food that was cold, at which time an older guy came out of the back and proceeded to accuse me of being belligerent to the guy at front counter, which I told him had never happened, I then asked this person who never introduced himself at all, for my money back and we’d just leave, he totally refused, he then told me we’d get no further service at our table and was totally belligerent to me and my wife, I took out one of the tacos I ordered and was cold, but I was starving by now and took a bite with a mouthful of HAIR in it. I know customer service is out the windows these days but this is the worst managed Wharf we’ve ever been to and will never go back !!! Beware...

The one star is because the front/dining room staff were polite and professional. We've eaten at Wharf a few times and it's always been hit or miss. Nothing to write a review about until now. We ordered take out and waited a reasonable amount of time for our food. This is where the positives end. At home we discovered the oysters and fish were WAY overcooked...dark brown, with some charring, and it was obvious they hadn't changed their oil in a while. It tasted bad, dry, a real waste of some good oysters. I called the manager to let him know about the problem, but I wasn't asking for anything at this point. I figured with enough sauce I could get it down, but then I discovered they had also forgotten to include my slaw, so I had to go back with the food. I met the manager who I had spoken with, showed him the food and he accused me of bashing his restaurant and being rude on the phone. I expressed my frustration, but I was never rude or abusive. The ruined oysters were sitting on the table in front of him as proof of my claims. Instead of offering to recook the food after I had already made the trip back to the restaurant, he suggested a refund. The "manager" went to the back to get the "real manager" to process my refund. He asked me to leave and not come back. On this, we agree, I won't be back. They could have easily kept my business by addressing the problem in the kitchen and having a dialogue with me to find a solution. Found this place in Tallahassee near the Costco store. It looked nice from the outside. The inside was nicely decorated, clean and bright. We were greeted right away by a very nice person, Kaitlyn. She was incredibly helpful and quick to show us the casual dinning there and went over the menu with us. There were so many choices to choose from but we decided on the Shrimp Cobb Salad and my spouse got the Sweet Pecan Shrimp dish. The food came out within 10 minutes. The presentation was really nice and everything looked and tasted fresh. The portions were very generous and I wasn't sure if I could finish my salad. The dressings on both tasted delicious and tasted homemade. The Shrimp were cooked and seasoned perfectly for both dishes. We were impressed that Kaitlyn came over to our table to check on us and make sure everything was satisfactory. Considering the portions and the fact the meals contained lots of shrimp the cost was very fair. One of the other things I consider when rating an establishment are the restrooms. Theirs were very...
