We wanted fresh warm tortilla chips for our church Ascension Day early dinner. The guys at Cinco de Mayo brought out two brown paper sacks filled with the lightweight fragrant and crispy yellow corn chips packed in white paper sacks, tightly closed at the tops with a quick easy -to -open double twist. Perfect for the tables our Men's Cooking Crew had set up. Delicious with the Mexican dinner we enjoyed before the evening's church Ascension service. Our meals have always been delicious at Cinco de Mayo; and fun; that's what made me want to include them in the church activities this past May 18th, 2023. I love that we have this Mexican food on this side of town. Order the flan, just don't tell your abuela it might be as tasty a dessert as you remember from her kitchen... Also, even at 5 pm with the kitchen busy and the dinner guests arriving, the Señoras bathroom was clean, bright, cool, comfortable and colorful, just fine, highly hygienic; but I don't see a place elsewhere to remark about the restroom facilities and decided to add this opinion important to most restaurant customers. There is a central sports bar; it seems to have everything anyone would want, in Spanish or English, with plenty of welcome and...

We have been to atleast 5 other Mexican restaurants in town and this place was the best by far! It's not a huge, fancy place but it is clean, homey and has a really decent bar! We decided to have dinner at the bar and had the greatest bartender/server that we've ever had in Tallahassee, his name was Angel and believe me we have eaten at many place since we are new to the area we tend to try a new place every time we go to Tally and he was beyond any others we have had. The food was AWESOME! The refried beans with the rice was NOT runny like all the other places and everything we ordered was perfectly cooked! We will most definitely be back and we are happy that they were able to make it and stat afloat during the pandemic! Definitely stop there and try them out you won't be sorry! I usually take pictures when we eat out and wish I had this time...next time I will!...
Read moreWe love eating at Cinco De Mayo because the food and service are great and it is close to home. Our family of 5 usually orders the same thing every time we visit. Our older son prefers to get chicken strips or a cheeseburger, both of which are options on the Kids Menu. Our two younger children go for the soft taco meal (beef and cheese only) and the burrito meal. These come with sides of refried beans and rice. There are a variety of combo meals for the adults to choose from. I usually go for the soft taco, burrito and enchilada combo. The chips and salsa are complementary and we always order a side of the delicious cheese dip (queso!) as an appetizer. The decor is comfortable and the staff are friendly and attentive. Prices are fair and we normally get out for about...
