Everytime I go to Rite Aid Store #11060 in Tamaqua to pick up prescriptions there is always problems there. It stems from short changing prescriptions and when brought to their attention have to return as they tell you it was only a partial refill to refusing prescriptions until they speak to your doctor as if they are more qualified then the doctors. These are life sustaining medications not opioids or other pain prescriptions. They refused nebulizer medications until they can speak to the doctor. They refused a 70 yrs old crippled lady her nebulizer medications and diabetic supplies because they need papers filled out for Medicare everytime that the same prescriptions are refilled. She has no way to get there to fill out the papers as where they can't be done electronically? This is 2022 not 1982. So she can't get medications for her breathing or supplies to test her blood sugar. This is becoming standard practice for this store because it is the only commercial pharmacy in town. The straw that breaks the camels back is today I go there to pickup prescriptions that were texted to me that were ready as in I have severe COPD and can barely get out of my house to pickup breathing medications that my doctor prescribed to me and I paid for online only to get told at 1:25pm that they are going to lunch which is supposed to be at 1:30pm and get in a argument and be threatened to have the cops called because I wanted to speak with a supervisor for a transaction that would have taken 30 seconds if that. If is was after 1:30pm i could have understood that but really? Still having 5 minutes to give someone who can barely walk or breathe much needed medications. This is the benchmark of poor customer service because they are the only commercial...
Read moreI went here for all up my vaccines and never had a problem until today. I felt compelled to write a review for the unprofessional staff that they had working in the pharmacy today, 11/23 from 2-5 PM. I walked in at 2:00 for a flu shot. I waited for the one person in line at the pharmacy to be served and walked up to the desk. After telling them I was there to receive the flu shot, the girl at the front desk asked if I made an appointment--to which I responded no. She then said that I would need to make an appt., but they didn't have any for today. Mind you, there was no one in line and the pharmacy was empty at that time and the workers were CLEARLY not busy. I left and saw there was no online vaccination appointments for the next week? So I called the Tamaqua Rite Aid Pharmacy number to confirm that they no longer accepted walk-ins. After calling 7 times, a woman finally answered the pharmacy phone. She instructed me that they only accepted walkins from 2-3PM daily. I'm not sure when that rule came into effect or if the pharmacist has personal times to send away business, but I was there at 2PM today and I was turned away. This experience was extremely unprofessional. I will NEVER get vaccines at this Tamaqua Rite-Aid ever again or recommend them to any patients because of the unprofessional, unorganized, and rude staff. I now wouldn't even trust getting a shot or medication from the current vindictive pharmacy staff that don't like their jobs and don't want to be there or...
Read moreI personally hate going here, but it is one of a few places that accept my insurance. They make excuse after excuse about having to special order a prescription on AUTOFILL. This has never been a problem with anyone else I know who has special order prescriptions. They either forgot and just kept forgetting or just did not want to call it in. I had to wait two weeks to get my prescription to me (and i was out for most of these two weeks), and I had to call 3 separate times just for the pickup date would be in to be switched each time. Thankfully, this was not life-saving medication, or else i would be in an emergency. Absolutely unacceptable, vindictive staff who just hang up on you and horrible people...
