Asia Star — Restaurant in Tamaqua

How good the food is depends on the day. Last week the food was great. Last night it was terrible. The general TSO’s chicken was soggy, The lo mein was oily and just a bunch of onions, And the Mongolian beef had fried vegetables instead of steamed and was just thrown together. I got 2 orders of the general TSO’s chicken so I complained about that And the manager tried to argue with me Saying that it was my fault that it was soggy because he was looking at the time that came back. So he was very rude about it And only gave me a replacement for 1 Because my kids had eaten some. The replacement chicken was absolutely amazing! And funny enough, the leftovers look amazing and look better than the fresh chicken that I got...

We arrived around noon and there was no wait to be seated (although afterward, people began to fill the tables and come in for takeout). The waitress was pleasant and eager to take our order. The menu is expansive, with typical Chinese fare and options. What got us excited was the sushi menu! There are ample options to choose from, from specialty rolls to simple. We ordered a couple of specialty and regular rolls and loved every delicious bite. I've been to a few sushi places and been glad for the tabletop soy sauce, but this meal was so tasty we didn't need a drop of soy to enhance the flavors. We will absolutely be returning in the future and I am so excited now to have sushi as an option for a quick dinner pick...

Had an amazing meal. I got something off the dinner combo platter menu. Three garlic. My son had the sushi regular and we had some egg rolls.

Everything was spectacular the egg rolls were fresh and hot and a great flavor and presented well.

The three garlic with white rice was really good and everything was cooked well and plenty of vegetables which is great because so many places don't give you enough vegetables. It could have been a little spicier though. But that's probably perhaps cuz I really like Szechuan food.

The Miso soup was perhaps the best miso soup I ever had.
