Goddard Liquor Store — Local services in Taylor

I have to tip my hat to the latest owner and operator of Goddard liquor store. There has been 2 other owners since I started shopping there as a kid and the previous owner was great and will always be remembered and loved by the neighborhood but I must say the neighborhood is lucky to have gotten the new owner. He cares not only about the service being A1 but also the store and the products being tip top. The store has tremendously improved on all aspects over the last 7 to 8 months. I've been shopping at this store since I was 14 years old and this is the best version it's ever been. Clean updated and new items coming in every week. Top selection of liquors as a liquor store should have. I recommend you come check it out for yourself if you're someone who quit coming after old man Sam retired, I'd bet you would be pleasantly surprised to see how much it has improved. The 2 employees I met were excellent and very friendly and I believe the younger guy was there for years as well and I received nothing but great service from them unlike the sunglass wearing guy that is no longer there anymore I believe. Don't take my word for it tho go see for yourself or don't. THANKS Samir for making my neighborhood store way better then anyone...

Me and fiance was in this store on 12/13/2024 and I was playing my numbers with Eddie talking and Laughing with Eddie I purchased some items and my fiance was behind me he was going to play some numbers as well the new owner told Eddie to go ring up thecustomers and he will do the lottery Eddie did tell him EVERYONE was playing the lottery once Eddie finished with me the Store owner started to take over the lottery Machine my fiance was next but instead the store owner reached over my fiance and took the Caucasian lady and held a conversation with her and we been going to this store for 8yrs and the old store owner Sam was the best VERY NICE ALWAYS but I will not be going back there and I shop at that store EVERYDAY...

Bad service be careful to buy money order from them no one will accept that money order I bought 2 money orders from them for $ 725 to send them to DHS but it was sent back to me after 2 weeks because they dont accept these memo money orders so I end up getting cashier check from my bank pay another $725 I went back to this shop they said I have to fill out a form and send them back to memo to get me replacement money orders payable to my name did that , waited a week until I got them then take them back to this store they were very rude and said they cant cash them I have to take them to a bank to get my money back and ask me to leave , big scammers...
