Steadman's Jewelry — Local services in Taylorsville

I normally will NOT give someone a bad review but i feel that Steadman's has earned the lowest rating i can possibly give them. i have spent a small fortune with these people and in the past, they have done a pretty decent job. i have a VERY expensive men's bracelet probably valued at over 9k they have repaired in the past, but the last time i took it in and charged me close to $500.00 (the time before that it was over $700.00). i wore the bracelet twice and the 2nd time it fell off of my wrist (while driving in my car thank goodness). i have to wonder if they did ANYTHING this past trip to their business. My wife took the bracelet back to them OVER A MONTH AGO and asked AGAIN for them to repair the bracelet. The son told my wife 2 weeks ago when she inquired if the bracelet was done. his reply was "ahhh its on my dad's bench" implying that it was being worked on. What a crock of CRAP that was. My wife called and left a message to have them return the call to retrieve the bracelet today 9/26/25...NO CALL BACK. Wife went to the location, and old man Steadman told my wife..."Ahhh its on my bench" wife inquired "has anything been done to repair the bracelet"? response by old man Steadman "Ahhhhhhhhhh well no, not yet". My wife demanded the bracelet be returned UNREPAIRED and we will NEVER go back to Steadmans. if you have something that needs to be repaired, be prepared to be OVER CHARDED and disappointed. LOWER your expectations a LOT, and you won't be disappointed but I will never go back and encourage anyone I know to NOT use them.

Not a great experience. I have been having my rings fixed, sized and cleaned here for a few years now and it's always been great and honest. This time I took a ring here and it got forgotten about, I waited and expected a call to let me know it was done, but it never came. About a month later I went in to check on it and they had to look for it, they did find it but it hadn't been touched yet, they said they would get it done soon and they did but about a week after I got it back the Dimond they replaced broke in half, we didn't bump it or hit it on anything. I took it back to them to get fixed. And was asked to (and did) pay to have that Dimond replaced again. That should have been warranty work. Needless to say, unfortunately I have to find...

We are very satisfied with and very grateful to Steadmans for their excellent work and customer service throughout the process of purchasing my engagement ring. They have reasonable pricing and timing, and were always willing to make a deal or help us out in some way. Never felt like we were being upsold, in fact, usually the opposite. Not only did they make a beautiful ring for me, they priority shipped it to us at no charge, and resized it for me in a matter of hours due to our limited window of opportunity. They made the whole process so easy for us. This is a small family business that feels very much like a family business and you definitely get a better experience because of it.
