This is such a great museum for kids. If you go on a private tour (not a school tour), it's very hands on. The tour guide let the kids handle things and gave a tour focused on things kids would find interesting. And since the house had been her grandmother's, she was able to share some cool memories. My son went on a school tour here and enjoyed it enough to ask me to take him and his siblings. They just do a great job of catering to kids. (And I found it interesting too.) If the door is locked when you arrive and it's a time that the museum should be open, just ring the doorbell and wait patiently.
