This salon is a huge disappointment! They have fallen off over the years! I believe the owner may have either moved out of state or has opened up another location or both...who knows! The young lady that has been left in charge to run the salon is unprofessional and could use a lesson on styling dreads. Not to nitpick but if I come in to get my hair done, I shouldn't be told that you "don't know many styles". Honestly, that should have been made clear from the jump! I visited this place twice....was told a certain time on the first day and no one was there and so I had to rebook for the following day. I booked an appointment for my sister to get her hair done the following day. Her appointment was cancelled earlier that morning and she was sent to another salon which tried to up the price on her. Turns out, when Get Twisted cancels they try to save face by referring their customers to another location (which is not affiliated with them in any way and so they do not honor the pricing that was originally quoted). I must admit that I visited this place because I was in a pinch, but I will not return regardless of how badly I need my hair done! The saddest part of it all is that they've got competition a couple of doors down from them and so you'd think that they'd be on point....but I guess not everyone thinks like I do. If Get Twisted was smart, they'd get their act together because their competition OVERCHARGES and that could be one way to reel in clientele. Doubt they'll take the advice though! Lastly, they've got a cat who they bring in to work. Don't get me wrong....the cat was cute BUTTTT in no way, shape, or form is it professional or sanitary to have it there in the salon. Nowadays with people having allergies and establishments being deemed unsanitary for just about anything, you'd think that the cat would've been kept at home.....especially at a location where black hair is being done! Ummmmm......never again! And lastly, parking is slim so if you aren't already a customer and have some loyalty to them, then I'd advise to keep it moving and not waste your time or...
Read moreI wanted to wait a few months before writing a review of Get Twisted. First, let me start off by saying that I only write reviews after about a year of using services by any business. With that said, My experiences with Get Twisted has been amazing. My first time at the salon, I was a walk-in on June 12, 2016. (It was the same day as the shootings at the Pulse nightclub, a coworker of mine was later found killed in the club.) It was 3pm and I told Sheryl that I really wanted goddess locs. I thought that she was going to send me away and tell me to come back another day. Instead, she finished the client she had and took me.
The style took hours. Sheryl and her husband Supreme (the owners) stayed in that salon for hours., We finally finished up at 2am. That's RIGHT!!!!! 2am.. The best experience and warmest experience I had ever had at a salon. My hair came out pretty good. After I posted pictures on Instagram, the hair company asked me to become a brand ambassador for their HAIR..
Months later, I needed another install done. I called Sheryl and asked her her availability. On New Years Day, I walked into her salon at 8:30am and asked for a permanent install. This time, I wasn't as pleased with my hair at first. It wasn't because of how it was installed, Actually, Sheryl did an amazing job.. The best job anyone has ever done with my hair. I hate neat hair. I love messy hair that looks like it is unkept with knots. However, everyone else adored my hair.
The hair company loved the new pictures and my sales went up. I tell everyone I know that Get Twisted is the best place to go, I BELIEVE THAT MORE THAN EVER. The owners are the most positive people and they care so much about the needs of their clients. I thank Sheryl and Supreme so much for helping me shine on the outside.. You guys rock and I am so glad that God continues to bless you!!! for more pics, Follow me at @justice_ Luv86...
Read moreJust awful! I read the reviews and came to get cornrows. I made my appointment and they were about twenty minutes later than I was scheduled. Then I showed the woman who was going to braid my hair the style I wanted and she said ok, did you bring hair? I told her no because I thought they had it and when I made my appointment I wasn't told that. She was very short and kinda snippy with me and said well I didn't make the appointment so... anyway after some annoyance I left to get hair and came back. So she proceeds to tell me my hair won't come out like the picture because the difference in my hair from the other lady. I said to her rather flatly I didnt ask you to change my texture just to braid my hair. She begins rambling about how I shouldn't leave my edges out and that's so old school blah blah.. she can't get the braid in my hair by gradually adding hair, she takes a huge clump of hair, parts it unevenly and leaves a huge knot in the front of my hair! I told her to take it out and described how I have seen numerous youtubers add hair gradually for a natural look. She said she can try and starts saying how I shouldn't be getting cornrows because my hair is too soft and my edges are thin! Just rude and hateful! She starts tangling my braiding hair and still can't get the braid in. She further insults me by saying I shouldn't have been a candidate for cornrows as if I was running for president! Mind you she has no edges her hair is a hot mess and she has glued on thick plastic eyelashes to her eyelids and telling me what I'm not a candidate for..I almost laughed in her ugly face..to make matters worse when I was leaving the owner never stopped to see what went wrong or to try to smooth it over.. just a sad sorry excuse for a business owner. I will NEVER recommend this place based on the one stylist and lack of care by the owner!! Thoroughly...
