The Humble Toast — Restaurant in Teaneck Township

What started out as a nice outing, quickly turned into being a night of sub-par service. The waitresses were very nice and helpful, and most of the food came out fairly fast, which was very impressive. All that quickly ended as one person from our partys meal took give or take 30 min (whos counting until the 10 mark) to come out. Mind you, it was a deli sandwich and a drink, not something that required a line of michilen star chefs and time to marinate.

The bad turned to worse when it took the waitresses a while to get the dessert menue to us, and even longer for it to come out. When it did come out, the deep-fried oreos didn't have ice cream on the side as it should have, and the churros looked like they were thrown on a plate, with the ice cream already melting. The last partys desert wasn't available, which is OK, but it took them like 20 min to tell us that. I wouldn't usually be all Karen like about the small details, but this is supposed to be a nicer place, and that's what we intended to pay for.

The seating was very tight, and it seemed that there was a bit of a wait filling up.

My overall review of this place is that the food is good, nice variety, and a bunch of unique options. the prices are resonable, and I would recommend take out from here.

In-house eating is not something I recommend. Although the waitresses were friendly (can't say the same about the waiters, one kept on bumping into a stroller parked next to our table), the in-house just wasn't it....

Had a nice family evening here. We went out to celebrate a local family event. This turned out to be less fancy than I thought from the menu prices :) but we had a great time.

Nachos, fries and chili were excellent, everyone enjoyed them tremendously. Beware the fries and really monster size and so are the nachos, - we ordered 2 and it was a mistake.

The bread bowl of chili is amazing, - a huge baked bread with no insides and chili put in the middle, like a shepherd's pie. Excellent chili as well!

The girls loved the salmon, rib eye was great but too expensive for my liking ($57), but we anyhow ordered so much appetizers that everything else wasn't even needed.

The little one was delighted to get her fries and sliders, nice burgers for adults too.

We paid about $450 for a party of 10, which is sightly pricey without the right ambience, but the food more than make up for it. I very much recommend this place, especially for a quick lunch bite. I'm going we will be back in the...

Music was too loud. Prices were too high. Waiters never came to the table. We left after 10-15 minutes of inaudible conversation. Definitely not a good choice for a romantic dinner for two. The food smelled good from afar, but we couldn't even order. I hope they can improve their customer service and become a better place to go in the future.

Update on 9/19/21:

They never came to the table with a basic salad after 20 minutes of waiting. Obnoxiously loud rap music.

Update on 10/03/21: The owner went above and beyond to offer me and my family a complementary meal. The service has greatly improved and the food was delicious. I guess my previous experiences were not indicative of the great potential this restaurant had. I would recommend this restaurant as this experience was nothing but positive.
