I had to rewrite my review because I realized my first one came off harsher than intended. A lot of the issues we ran into were more of a parenting issue, with younger people running around without supervision, and that’s not necessarily the fault of the establishment.
That said, I think this place has a lot of potential, and it’s something Texarkana really needs. The space itself is great, but the experience was a bit overwhelming. There were younger people running everywhere, bouncing balls without actually playing, which made it hard to enjoy things like basketball. At one point, we even got hit by a stray ball while waiting at the crane games.
At the VR area, a younger person tried to cut ahead of us and even asked us to pay for him, which was uncomfortable. Many others were grabbing and playing with arcade accessories without actually swiping to play, so we spent a lot of time just standing around. It honestly started to feel more like a daycare than an arcade.
I think with more staff actively walking around, keeping things orderly, and sanitizing equipment, the experience could be much smoother. The staff at the front also seemed very young, which didn’t help with maintaining structure.
The games themselves weren’t the best either—they felt lower quality than expected. With better game options and more attentive staff presence, this place could be amazing.
I do want to note that we were never rude to anyone, especially to your son. He was polite, kind, and helpful, and we had no issue with him personally. My main concern is simply that younger people working the register or the floor don’t have the same authority to manage situations that require structure.
Lastly, I felt the response suggesting we “just drive to Dallas” was disappointing. Feedback should be an opportunity to improve, and I only shared mine in hopes of seeing this place succeed. I truly hope it does, because the potential is definitely here but I do apologize for my original review being harsher...
