I had my first Core Lab class after doing some weight training for a few months. The $10 community classes are a great way to try this type of workout out. I was hooked by my first class. You can't ask for a better full body workout that has you feeling every muscle the next day. I hate high impact workouts so it's hard to find a low impact workout that also gets your heart rate sustained as high as reformer pilates does. I went from one class a week to 3-4 a week at my peak. All the instructors are phenomenal and help tailor the class to you since class sizes are limited to 10 each. I especially love Lau, Sophie, and Kim! The stretch and shake classes led by Anne are also perfect and a perfect combination of hard work and much needed recovery.
This was a great workout for my first trimester of pregnancy as well. I sadly had to peel back due to an injury and other pregnancy-related issues, but hoping to come back slowly in my third and fourth trimester. The Core Lab will definitely be part of my postpartum recovery to get me back in shape. My only feedback is that there are ample class times available for those of us who can work out before work or in the middle of the morning. For those of us who work a full day (boo to a work day that starts at 6AM!), we are limited to 2-3 classes starting at 5:30 PM, which is hard for those of us also responsible for childcare, dinner, etc after work. These afternoon/evening classes also book up quickly! Really wish there was a 4:30 option to allow us to fit in a workout before the hustle of our evening routine, but totally understand this is dependent on demand and other scheduling considerations.
The Core Lab had helped me get to a state of fitness I have never achieved in the most efficient and safest way possible. The instructors push and encourage you but never tear you down. She let us know what to do with clear instructions & showed us by doing it herself as well which was very helpful for a beginner like me. She answered all of my questions before class & helped me feel welcome as I was fairly intimidated to go the first time. Classes are easy to reserve online or on their app as well.
