Just moved to tomball from Katy and found a sushi gem outside of our new neighborhood. The first time we went was awesome. We had such a nice experience the first time, we took friends from out of town to come enjoy the experience with us on a Saturday night. We were absolutely mortified. Our server (David) handed us the check 30 minutes in, mid-meal, and asked us if we needed boxes. He came back 5 minutes later-mouths full of sushi- asking if we needed change for the checks that we never touched. He was so upset that we didn't pay the check yet, that he threw up his arms and said "my kids are waiting, y'all can have another server" and stormed off. Mind you, it's was 9:30, the restaurant closes at 10:30. Confused, and out of water, we waited for another server. No one came. So we finally asked for management. No management came by, but they sent over another server to pick up the slack who apologized profusely for the situation and admitted that he was only 2 days into the job, having no idea what was going on. They must have known he was awesome, because he made us feel better. HE was amazing. But, it's disheartening that the management didn't care enough to handle the situation, nor did they do anything to make things right. Everyone at our table has been in the service industry for many years. We are very forgiving when it comes to the food and beverage industry, understanding all aspects. This was inexcusable. Management needs to get more involved. Management did not handle this correctly. We will not be...

I called the next day after the events below and the GM told me she would have comp'd us on next visit and would call me back after talking to the staff to see what happened. She didn't call me back. I ordered a few items today (2 days later) with a different phone and name to avoid having someone spit in my food. When I paid, I did claim the offer for the replacement roll. The GM said she was just about to call me... right. I didn't tip which is only marginally satisfying.
Original: Iâve been going to Akashi for years now. We normally do take out for my family on Sundays. Today, I saw an unfortunate series of events, poor management and customer service. After picking up a $130 order, they forgot one entree. How did I find out? I just made it home and received a call. They said I could come back and pick it up, but zero apology. I asked to speak to a manager. Val answered with no apology. Her resolution was for me to come pick up the item ($7.95 + a 45 min drive roundtrip which was a no brainer, no. My whole family was waiting to eat). When I asked if she would offer extra to recover the tip or for my trouble, the answer was no.
My expectation would be that Val should have offered $10 credit (at least). I like this place and always tip 20% on take-out but not anymore. I'll recover the cost to go back and the tip...

Ordered the only bento box on the menu and the item didnât even come in a bento box, it was served on a plate after the server said it came in a bento box. After the âbentoâ came out, I waited for my order - a roll and the other person ate half their food before my roll even arrived. All this while the restaurant may have had only two occupied tables total. I could not imagine if the restaurant was full. Would that mean I would not get my order until it was time to check out?
Then I had to actually call their main number from my phone from the table to get the waitress to refill our water. Very sad.
Upon paying, she asked if we wanted some more water and we said yes...she never even bothered to come back as we sat their as she chitchats with the staff at the bar.
Sadly, this was a very poor experience especially on the service aspect. eating out is costly and you donât expect a sub-par experience.
I should have read some of these reviews before I came here. I donât even know why I even tipped the waitress...only out...
