{Impressive follow up on behalf of the management team -- changed review from 1 to 3 stars] -- The talk of the restaurant floor was how grumpy the lady behind the bar / register was -- not just our group, we overheard and interected with other groups who felt the same. She showed truly the exact opposite of a hospitable attitude and atmosphere. "Hi ma'am, would you mind putting a couple of limes in these waters for our kiddos?" [disgusted face + literally plopping lime wedges in the glasses with emphasis like it was from a movie]. "Hi, ma'am, were ready to checkout whenever you're ready." ["Yeah, get in the back of the line. I'll deal with you then.] Unapologetically miserable across every interaction. We watched her throw her hands up at another guest because he didn't come get his beers off the bar counter fast enough. Real life here folks. If the food (or even the atmosphere) were worthwhile you might overlook the hospitality. But neither is anything to write home about. The atmosphere is wildly haphazard/disorganized for seating, and it looks like they hadn't cleaned the bathrooms or elsewhere in quite awhile. Ingredient sourcing for the food is the bottom of the barrel. Find another spot for pizza and beer... there are multiple...

We've been to all 3 Mountain State Breweries. I believe this is the original, and it's offerings do not meet the expectations set by the Deep Creek and Morgantown locations. First, they offer counter ordering only. Since this is your first impression of the joint, the server should be friendly. She was not - I'll give her benefit that this may have been a busy time. However the location is small, so "busy" is relative. When asked if I could get a soda refill, the answer was a short "No, I don't give refills" Hmm Overall, our pizza tasted great and we gobbled it down. There is only one size offered. My theory is they are pre-made and sent through the conveyor belt. NOT the wood fire crust the other locations offer. But the toppings were great and we ate it all. We re commend the Fire on the Mountain, and the Margherita was topped with fresh basil. We will return here again, but now know...

Not a great experience, especially considering local competition. My review revolves around 3 main issues, and I generally don’t review or post. Mixed drink was messed up. We got a steak sub, and a steakhouse pizza. The sub was good but disappointing in size. For $12, you can get much more at the same quality at other places. Out steakhouse pizza was $15. The pizza is small, not worth the price. In addition, the pizza might not be that bad, but ours was loaded with Montreal steak seasoning, and was very salty. We took it home and threw it out. The table was dirty. The place did not seem busy at all, only like 4-5 total tables occupied. The only table available inside, and not outside in the rain, still had crumbs. In total we spent $41, and we felt like $41 was not worth the amount or quality of food recieved. Would not recommend again, there are other local options at cheaper or similar...

This may be the coolest small town brewery pub I've ever been to. Entrance to the place is nonchalant, in the back of the brewery with a small sign. Walk in to a small, rustic dive bar with refinished saw horses as bar stools, which we got lucky and grabbed the last saw horse at the packed bar. The bar top was made of the leftover copper roofing used for the building. Also an outdoor area and a small music venue on the side. There was a show the Saturday night we went but couldn't stay for the show. Only 1 bartender working but he was very knowledgeable & friendly. Prices are very reasonable, which was great because I love their craft beers. They had their 4 regulars beers and 2 seasonal beers on draft. Plenty of other choices on drinks too but don't waste your time on the food. Really. If you're in the town of Thomas & enjoy craft beer this is a great place to check out!

Two other options to eat were closed in Thomas, one permanently, so we opted for Mountain State Brewing and weren’t disappointed. We split the Big Casino pizza (gluten free crust) with bacon, spinach, tomato and mozzarella and really enjoyed it. They messed up our order and gave us a regular pizza with the same toppings and it was equally tasty. I also ordered the Lost Cow steak sandwich which was flavorful but could have used a little more meat to fill the very large subway bun. Washed it all down with a nice IPA!
