Mom & Pops — Local services in Thornton

1/9/22 - So I decided to make the drive out here after seeing advertisements for them on Facebook. First off if you are using Google maps, it puts the location dot further north in the shops then it is. Then trying to find parking can be an issue. The parking lot is very small and it is hard to drive in with all the cars parking wherever they want because all the real spots are full. Don't count on using handicap parking here.

Then the shop itself is a little small, but they do what they can with the space they have. When you first walk in you are greeted by tons of snack products. Some are common that you can find at the local Asian markets while others are specialized. They have a lot of Funko figures both common and uncommon, so if you buy any be aware of the price in regards to rarity. I feel like they could have made better use of the space with higher shelfs. They did have anime products for the top popular animes right now, but not really rare products that you can't find else where. The prices are average to high when compared with other stores in Colorado. Even though they were busy the staff didn't seem that friendly, and when I asked how much the stickers were it seemed like a bother to them. The stickers are a good example of their prices. These stickers can be bought online for 100 for $5. Most other places sale them for 50 cents to 1 dollar. This place sales them for 1 dollar. It shows how they are on the higher end of local prices.

Also the cashier wasn't sure how their check out worked. They can't print receipts and she wasn't sure why the text message didn't include the price. Turns out you have to look for the second message and then follow a link to get at it. Not a good system. They need a way to print them for people. Overall, it's just average and I wouldn't recommend making a special trip out there for it. If you're in the area I would recommend stopping in at least once to just check it out. Tiny parking lot so be careful if you have a large vehicle. Sales associate working the floor noticed my friend and I come in but did not greet us or ask if we could be helped even though two minutes later a fella came in and was greeted. I think he was either staff or someone knew him. Not the end of the world but could have been better. The Anime is organized into series though the FunkoPops are random and in some places stacked a few layers deep. They are utilizing the space as effectively as possible given the design of the room. Could use some more lighting in the back hallway and some verbal affirmation of the price from the casher would have been nice. I stood there waiting for her to mention how much my items were and didn't see any digital indication or screen so I finally asked her. I know I wasn't buying a figure and it was just two stickers but I got the impression she just wasn't interested. I'm sure that's not the case but that was the outward impression that was given off. I did however get a super cute tiny bag for my stickers which I thought was adorable. That was extra and not necessary but a very "Kawaii" touch. There were several standard items though a few hard to find or rarer things mixed in. If you want to just look around with no pressure, it's a great place. If you have a question or a big truck it might be easier...

Honestly don't waist your time trying to call because they don't know how to answer a telephone so I'm not sure why they even have a number listed. I tried calling from 430pn all the way till 5 min till close just randomly here and there oh 12 SEPERATE time. 3 times back to back to back. An not one single time did anyone ever answer the phone and simply say we're so busy I'm sorry can I take a message or call back or maybe learn how to multitask and wear Bluetooth while working.. b imagine that! The possibilities of working and answering phone calls at the same time. Mind blown right?? 🤯🤯. So seeing as they could not answer q simple question that would have taken less than 2 min. I didn't go in. They don't want to answer a simple phone call and question then they don't want my business and who knows. My buissness could have been something that could have changed that shop forever... Never know. But it's all good I'll update this after I try another day to call first and if they answer actually go in but now I'm not thinking to highly already of this shop so we will see. Will expectations be blown away or be exactly as I picture it now for now I'll take my business...
