Hello. My rating of the tour I took yesterday on July 13 at 10 AM would be one out of however many stars there are.

First, the lady in front was not the friendliest. Borderline rude to my mother and other patrons of our tour.

Second, A LOT of the information given to us on the tour by Richard was inaccurate. We found ourselves Googling as the tour went on to get the most accurate information.

Third, we could barely hear Richard. We found ourselves being asked by others and asking others on the tour what was said.

Fourth, Richard never looked to make sure he had all of his party. Ourselves and numerous others kept being left (trying to take pictures).

Fifth, $30 a person for this tour is WAY TOO MUCH. You’re walking around and getting inaccurate information.

Would we do this tour again? NO Would we recommend this tour to anyone? NO

If I knew how to get my money back - I would...

I’d to leave this review for the tour company and not the tour guide. We had Dawn as our tour guide and she was awesome! She was so knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable.

We were bothered because we arrived with our 9lb dog after we had researched the cemetery pet policy and realized they were pet friendly. For some reason, their tour wasn’t. I don’t understand why because this was a walking tour around a cemetery which was clearly pet friendly because we saw a bunch of dogs. My husband had to leave to drop him off at our hotel and miss the first portion of the tour. What’s worse, when he got back he tried to find out how to join the tour and the lady at the office was rude to him.

I think they were lame for wasting our time and money for something so ridiculous. I’m sure there are other tours you can join. This one seemed overpriced...

Take Dawn Martin’s a/k/a “Dawn of Savannah’s Dead” Bonaventure Cemetery walking tour! Involves two hours of relatively flat walking through portions of the 106 acres. As a local, her passion for the history plus her 16 years of tour experience is palpable. Her voice carries and she is cautious with her tour visitors. And she surprises with songs of Johnny Mercer. I am a tour guide myself at a Victorian cemetery and I love taking tours in other places. Dawn’s is the best so far. Don’t worry if you don’t know anything about “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”, you will learn about burial traditions, symbolism and the lives of “permanent residents” from the 1700’s until today. Easy parking and onsite bathrooms at the tour center are pluses. Wear long pants and sleeves or use bug spray...

10/10 would recommend this tour. Bonaventure Cemetery is a must-see when visiting Savannah. The cemetery is hauntingly charming. Our guide Steven was awesome. He was knowledgeable, patient, and animated at times with his stories. He gave us ample time to wander a tad to take photos, but made sure no one was ever missing from the group. You can walk around on your own, but we would much rather stroll and look around while someone fills us in and points things out we would have missed. We did see a golf cart tour with just a couple people on it, but honestly I’d only do that if I were elderly like the two people on it. I think motorized vehicles take away from the experience. I highly suggest you walk letting yourself soak everything in.

We popped into this tour group and they fortunately had space left for us even last minute. We had Dawn as our tour guide and she began weaving stories from moment one. She has the perfect voice for being able to hear and really delve into each story that she tells. She has lived in Savannah her whole life and clearly loves it. She shares that love as if there's plenty for all which makes you feel so included and wanted. Simple as this, she told stories that she knew inside and out and had even lived some. Love this kind of tour and would absolutely take it again!
