The Big Store — Local services in Tifton

I have been in this store only a couple times, and each time the employees followed me and who I was with around. They watched us like hawks for no apparent reason other than we are young adults. I bought my boyfriend a shirt from there, and it did not fit him so I took it back to exchange it. I spoke with someone on the phone the day before I brought in the shirt, and she said that it would be okay as long as I had the receipt. I came in the next day, and an older lady there told me that they couldn’t accept the shirt because it was out of their return policy. I went back and forth with the lady telling her that someone else yesterday told me that it could be exchanged. She didn’t want to believe me and she had the WORST attitude. After talking to the owner, she came back and said she would exchange the shirt this one time, but she cant give me in store credit (meaning if I grabbed a shirt that was less than what the first one cost I would be out money). I was okay with that and picked out a shirt and checked out. It did not sound right when I had a balance, but I just wanted to get out of there. I was uncomfortable, and the employee was treating me like garbage. When I got home, I noticed that I was not given the tax back on the first shirt (they kept that), and I wasn’t given the sale price on the second shirt so they overcharged me $18. I am beyond livid, and I am just lost for words. What kind of respectable business does this? If I could give them less than 1...

I went to this store and received the WORST treatment ever. The place was full of employees that were extremely discriminatory! I had never felt so disrespected as when I went into this store. First of all, they continued to show me items that were on sale, instead of what I was asking for which were newer items. One of the employees literally said the sale rack would be “more attainable.” This definitely makes guest like myself feel that you are assuming I may not be able to afford your items simply because of my appearance or something of the sort. Then, as my friend asked for a sweater they proceeded in giving her 3X and said, “This should fit you. It would look great on someone like you.” I don’t think I need to explain how a comment like this would make someone feel. Furthermore, as I was leaving I found a piece I liked and it $5. I proceeded to pay with Apple Pay, and the signal in there was kind of like bad, so it did take a second to load, but then the employee says, “Do you have the $5 in your card, or do you think it’s trying to reject it so you won’t get an overdraft?” I proceeded to tell her that I definitely had the money, and just as I was saying that it loaded and my payment was successful. However, at that point I honestly regretted making the purchase at such a place with such distasteful, disrespectful, and discourteous environment. It is definitely a place that I would not return to...

Overpriced, not competitively priced and limited inventory of quality items above size small for women. There are some items that appear to have been previously worn and placed back into stock. Be careful not to purchased those items marked at new/retail price. It makes me question if the owner/employees wear or loan items out to friends and family then put it back on the rack to sell at full price.

Reputable: I won't bother coming back or recommending the Big Snobbery Store. I'll order on line thru the company brand websites to get better deals. I was misguided to think it could be an experience to have a variety of selections to browse through before making a purchase. I was rushed to make my selections. I guess I didn't have the look of their type or typical customer. The lady handling checkout was rude and disrespectful to the lady helping me. She was delighted to help others, delayed acknowledging us to help other staff with their regulars/friends (relationships known if calling by name). I've read some of the other reviews and totally concur with the rudeness, selective behavior towards customers and hovering customers of certain statuses.
