Today I arrived prior to 2:00 to order some baked goods and lunch. I approached the cashier and started to order when Missy (cook in the back) interrupted & and yelled, " lunch is over!" I was so surprised that I asked "Did she just yell lunch is over to me? " The cashier said, "Yes." I asked if there was anything left over or if I could get some kind of sandwich, and she shook her head no. She then looked away and asked the next customer for his order. Afterward, she asked if I needed anything else. I'm not sure why she skipped me before taking my full order for baked goods, but by then I was so shocked & embarrassed that I was yelled at, turned away when I needed food, skipped over before placing my full order and the over-all lack of customer service, I shook my head "no." I asked for the persons name that yelled from the kitchen and told the cashier I wanted to know so I could leave a review. Still.. no apology! So apparently, their signage needs updating. Lunch is not served until 2:00. It's served until Missy decides it isn't. Having said this, Cakes by Audrey has delicious baked goods, fair prices, and service with a smile. And, if you want deli food or even a lunch special with meat and vegetables, try The Local Graze on Main Street. They also have great food, customer service and will customize any order. I don't know if I will ever return to Mi-Lady, but I do know a smile, common courtesy & appreciation for customers wouldn't cost Mi Lady a single dime. Follow-up*Customers take note The owner acknowleged her cooked yelled lunch is over prior to 2:00. She says 1:59, my time read 1:55, her clock in the restaurant read something different. The owner says I wasn't skipped in line and the cashier took the next customer's order because I knew him and he walked in whenever I did. I suppose first come, first served isn't a thing anymore. Leaving feedback or reviews is a way for businesses to receive constructive feedback and improve. Unfortunately, in this instance, the owner chooses to respond multiple times by jumping to conclusions, calling me a liar, contradicting herself and defending poor customer service at all cost. Her business philosophy seems to be " the customer is never right." Honestly, the time spent "investigating" jumping to conclusions and cherry picking facts to support her excuses, would be better spent preparing food a customer could purchase "on the go" when she or Missy does'nt feel like taking 5 minutes to make a sandwich (before or after 2:00). Follow-up** The owner continues to call customers liars. She was in the kitchen enabling this unprofessionalism and has a video to fit HER narrative. I have an eye witness. Note how she tells me not to complain on the internet. She tries to bully and control people with little to no concept of free speech. This is why you cant talk to Kayla and have to post your review online. Lie, attack, detract has been her go to response to any constructive criticism here. Most businesses would respond with something similar to "Im sorry for your experience and will take any necessary steps to resolve any issues on our end." I hope the owner stops harrassing me. Its 1:45 ( close enough to 2:00) have missy yell "lunch is over" and go relax a bit. I'm starting to think Mi-Karen would be a great business name...
Read moreI got a "Bear Claw" here. It is not a Bear Claw. It should be labeled as something else. I am vegetarian (for health reasons) I took a big bite out of the pastry and it was filled with jelly! (bear claws are supposed to be filled with an almond paste) I got extremely sick. (ppl don't understand that animal products literally make me sick, I am not vegetarian because of some woo woo thinking, its for my health.) When I told the cashier what happened, she literally just laughed. Its not a joke. When animal products enter my system I am extremely sick for 24hrs. Jelly has Gelatin which is made from animal by-products. Misrepresentation by labeling... and can't even offer another pastry or apologize. On top of that, they have a sign when you walk in saying "Make sure you order correctly, nothing can be returned to be remade unless you are making another purchase" what?? so, your kitchen is 100perc unfaulty? they never make mistakes? I've owned several businesses, I've never seen a business operate like this.
Maam, I read your response... you have no idea about healthcare. I DO NOT have allergies to animal products... its a different condition. I am able to consume fish, eggs, milk.... its is animal by products that my body does not process..... You are not a healthcare professional .... I am a licensed LMT that has worked in healthcare over 26yrs. And I DID ask for the manager from your cashier and she just blankly stared at me. attaching search for "bear claw pastry" --- show me anywhere in the world where someone would think that a "bear claw" would be filled with any type of jam or jelly ..... Your behavior and business is...
Read moreI eat at the restaurant about once a week when in town for lunch. I’ve had their tuna fish sandwich several times. They actually put a little egg salad in the tuna. However today I went there for lunch and first of all the lady that took my order didn’t seem to understand when I was ordering. Anyhow, I ordered tuna fish on toast with potato salad and Diet Coke. When it arrived it was on regular untoasted bread. The lady took it back and it was toasted. Now as I was eating this supposedly tuna fish sandwich all I could taste was egg salad. I questions it and the lady came back and said the cook said it was tuna salad. I went up and approached the lady and told her that I had had their tuna salad many times and she said would you like to speak to the cook and I replied YES. The cook came out and I explained and she said that is tuna salad that we pit a little egg in it. I said I know that you put a little egg in it I’ve had it many times before here. I opened the sandwich and ran my fork through it and said show me the tuna and she pointed at it and said there is tuna. There was one little piece of tuna that she pointed at and I mean a very small piece at that! I took my tray and threw it in the trash drink and all and said fine!! I’ll never eat here again. And I won’t. This is one time that the customer was and is right! Don’t pawn a egg salad sandwich off on me for a tuna salad! I have always enjoyed eating here at Mi Lady Bakery but I will not be treated this way by them again and in front of other people in the...
