My experience with MV Film Center was absolutely great. This evening, on 1st of February 2019, I went to go see a foreign film that usually don't play in big cinemas. I was able to get my tickets easy enough. The employees are friendly. I did not get food and/or drinks at the concession stand as do as I done in the past at this same theater. All I can said of the food and drinks is good quality, but pricey. Also, if you were looking good popcorn, you will not find it here. The popcorn is not from a popcorn machine, but rather from a packaged product that you can buy at a high end store. Never less, this is a non-profit theater so there is leeway on this issue. The seating is very comfortable with leather. The seating is not reserve so you have to get there early if its busy to get the best seat. I am not sure how it works for the film festivals in the summers. I would guess it is the same. There is a max of one advertisement before the previews start. So above all, this is film center is worth going to. I would also like to add they have great special events such as special screenings that they show only once. I have been to such as screening and it was great experience. I have also been to their documentary film festival screening with a director Q&A with the host Henry Louis Gates (from the show "Finding Your Roots"). All of this making very wonderful experience, and makes it worth spending the high price...

I respect the gentle operation and the equally eager support from the locals. The seating is great. Very cushy and comfortable.
The air in the shoulder season however becomes fastly stale in the first 20 min when the seats are full, and it would need better fresh air exchange rate setting for the duration of the movie.
Proudly...
Read moreI'm not sure I can accurately express the joy of having the Martha's Vineyard Film Center in my town. Richard, the director, is a leader, the theater, and the programming are treasures, and they have those Gummi raspberry/blackberry thingies at the snack counter. Oh, and the art in the lobby is A+.
I'd like to thank the Academy, and, of course, the visionary who made this hep picture...
