The worst most overpriced lunch we have ever had! The menu is extremely limited. $16 for a garden salad! Asked the waiter if they had diet coke. The answer: “nope”. Seriously….nope. So ok, we asked if he had regular Coke….”yep”. Well what was delivered was a Mexican cola. We all know that there is a big difference. When we brought to his attention that it didn’t taste right he responded that they can’t get Coke products and they also run out of wine too. Really? Why does every other restaurant and the Stop and Shop down the street have Coke products? The food was even worse. A roast beef panini with onions and cheese with a side of kale Caesar salad. First the overdressed Cesar salad wasn’t kale….mixed greens folks. The salad was sopping wet…..like wet plaster of Paris. When we opened the panini, the razor thin meat product only covered a third of the bread. The manager apologized and brought another sandwich. The meat now covered half the bread. He said, “I am so sorry may I get you a glass of wine?” So of course thinking he was offering as an apology I said yes. He charged for the wine. Stay away please. A total mismanaged excuse for...

This past weekend my friends and I truly had one of the most memorable meals that I've had in a long long time. Our four-person group had so much fun sitting outside by our docked boat, watching the boats in the harbor, and unpacking Michelin Star worthy food all in a pleasant picnic setting. I mean let's get real, no one has or will offer all three things at once except Garde East! To sum up the three things that makes Garde East the best restaurant on the Vineyard: Can I say 100 star food?!? Beyond superior...it's mouth watering! Diligent and capable managers and staff, always catering to the customer! Presentation, delivery, and execution...all beyond expectations! While the world has been on lockdown and social distancing has shut down my favorite restaurants, Garde East has proven to be the shining star of impeccable service and well prepared by adapting to the current world we live in. I commend their ability to provide a safe and clean place to dine, and I will certainly be a repeat customer throughout...

What a gem this place is! We've been coming to the island for years and came recently to celebrate our anniversary. I never knew this was here and it is seriously my new favorite restaurant on the island. Pricey? Sure, but everything on the island is and at least here you get a beautiful view of the harbor and private beach/marina! I think it's the only spot in Vineyard Haven with a water view aside from Black Dog (which is subpar and basic) and the dining rooms are gorgeous with what looked like a view from almost every table. I was a bit nervous because I saw a few negative reviews claiming the "place was a dump" and "not on the water"??? Obviously these were posted by a disgruntled employee or guest as all of the reviews had the same last name and what they said couldn't be farther from the truth. Don't be fooled, the food was fantastic and service was on point. Thank you Garde East, we will be back year...

Probably the best outdoor dining setting on the Vineyard, and one of its finest restaurant. It’s the sister restaurant to “Rooftop at the G” in Providence, Rhode Island, where we dined on our way to the Vineyard, and where we learned about Garde East from our waitress. We dined on the upstairs deck, where the quiet bay provided a beautiful backdrop. The House Bread was delicious with honey butter. The Deviled Egg appetizer was delicious. I had the local bass, and my wife the chicken. Both were delicious. We tried both the decomposed Key Lime Pie and the Tiramisu. The Key Lime Pie was wonderful, and the Tiramisu was one of the best that we’ve ever had, with the perfect balance of taste, texture, and moisture. Our server was a gentleman who took terrific care of us. Hands down the best dining experience that we had on the Vineyard. It felt and tasted just right.
