It was a Saturday morning at 8:00 8/16/2025. We had a party of 4 and were seated immediately. We placed our order and were served coffee rather quickly. It was after that when it all went down hill. We waited nearly 30 minutes and looked curiously at the waiter and a man, who sat us and appeared to be the manager. We sought their attention without getting it. We actually had to ask another server for more coffee. Our waiter finally came back to ask if we wanted coffee and share that our food would be coming shortly. He then noticed we received more coffee from his coworker. Next came the countdown: 2 tables, then 3, then 4, then 5, then 6….who arrived well after us that had been served their food. That was the moment we finally asked the manager where our food was. At this time, there were 3 of those tables who came in after us already finished eating, and were now leaving. Seriously?!?! Wait! BREAKING NEWS! 10 minutes later, our food finally started coming out. The dishes were coming out 2 minutes after each other. We ate without the waiter or useless manager coming to check in or maybe even apologizing for the pathetic service. All they had to do was own up to forgetting to put the food order in and then hiding through the whole experience. Basically said the useless manager and waiter are both a liability to this establishment. At least they capped it off with some humor. The waiter came by with the check and actually asked how everything was. I was speechless! The bill for 4 was $110.00 we left a very generous tip of $11.00 Should have given...
Read morePlanning a breakfast outing on Martha’s Vineyard? ArtCliff Diner is a popular choice, but be sure to arrive early as it’s a favorite among locals and visitors alike. This beloved spot can get quite busy, and parking might be a bit tricky, often requiring you to find a spot on the street.
The service at ArtCliff Diner is commendable. Our waitress, along with the rest of the staff, was quick, efficient, and attentive without being overbearing. However, one thing to note is that the diner features specials written on the walls, which weren’t pointed out to us until after we had already placed our orders. It’s worth taking a look at these before you decide.
As for the food, my experience was mixed. I ordered the Mr. T frittata, but unfortunately, the dish didn’t quite hit the mark. The flavor of the potatoes was off, making the entire dish almost inedible. I’ve heard similar feedback from others who have tried the breakfast potatoes, suggesting that a change in the type of potatoes used could significantly improve the meals.
While ArtCliff Diner has its charms, particularly with its efficient service and cozy atmosphere, the quality of the food might not meet everyone’s expectations. If you’re planning a visit, consider checking out the specials, and hopefully, they’ve made improvements to their...
Read moreWe've been coming to the Vineyard for years and hearing good things about Art Cliff, so we decided to finally try it... We didn't even eat, but we're never going back... After spending a considerable amount of time looking for parking, we pressed on (the driveway to the lot was blocked with parked cars?)... We stepped up and we were pounced on by a woman... (NOT wearing a mask, but more on that later), ...who advised that it was takeout only but we could sit at any available picnic table, while the other folks perused the menu, I scout out seating, on returning I advise our party we should do takeout... Well then the woman rather rudely goes in to a speech about how there are only three icu beds and how we need to keep our people safe and the schools need to open in September... We all look at her...preaching with no mask on...after our entire house scrambled to comply with the Gov.'s order (issued just a week before our planned trip)... I then suggested we just go to Tony's and get something to take on the beach, as our business clearly was not wanted at Art Cliff...
We never did eat, and...
