BUYERS BEWARE. We live in Canton Mi and I found my perfect vehicle on their website a 22 Tahoe. Due to us being 115 miles away and an 1hour and 43 minute drive, we relied on our sales person to be our eyes for this purchase. We specifically asked for him to confirm any cosmetic issues inside and out or if the vehicle has been smoked in. He sent us a bunch of pictures of the vehicle inside and out. Looked as great as he said it was. I was provided the breakdown of the price and it was a $1000 higher than what the website was showing the price as. I had to point that out and get that corrected. Then there was a $795 fee, that fee was described to me as a fee to fix issues with any vehicle and the examples were "brakes, hoses, filters". E-Signed the paperwork, they delivered the vehicle to our home. The second the Tahoe pulled up in the driveway my blood pressure went up. The grill of the Tahoe has at least 25 marks where the "film" is peeling off (not disclosed verbally or in pictures). There is a large chip in the windshield, again.. (not disclosed verbally or shown in pictures). The rear corner of the Tahoe has been damaged. There are several black scuff marks (on a white truck) and a couple of these marks look to be "fixed" with whiteout. This of course was not disclosed or provided in any of the photos. The rear taillight has condensation in it. The best are the brakes.. the truck shakes when the brakes are applied (whether it is a tap or coming to a full stop). Ultimately decided we would continue with the purchase as I was hopeful that their motto would be to make the customer happy.. welp... after many many text conversations with both my salesperson Josh and the manager Steven, and being told several times that there just isn't any money in the deal to "repair" anything, Jason the (not sure of his title) was very adamant that I was getting literally nothing. I paid full asking price for this Tahoe, did not ask for a penny off the list price. Steven said I would only be getting safelite out to fix the chip. I asked if it is more important to Burt Watson for the customer to be happy or them have not spend any money. Finally Steven took it upon himself to send a taillight assembly sent to my house. The dealership did send safelite to "repair" the chip but within 10 seconds, the safelite tech said no fixing this chip as it had already been fixed before but would continue to spread. The dealership did pay for the Tahoe to get a new windshield (safety issue). I have taken the Tahoe to two places to get an estimate on the unsafe brakes and got 2 estimates.. first one is $1300 and the second is $1900. The dealership is refusing to budge with replacing the brakes and rotors BUT the $795 collected was exactly for this issue.. hhmmmm. Steven talked with Jason countless times to see what he could do for me and Jason's best advise was for me to "return" the Tahoe for a full refund..... a refund that WOULD NOT INCLUDE the taxes I paid of $ 4638.20. Also, after weeks of requesting the trade in checklist, it took letting Steven know I had been in contact with an attorney to receive it to see what they determined was wrong with the vehicle that they took in on trade AND ALREADY HAD planned on selling to auction less that 2 weeks after receiving it. The so called checklist shows zero useful information. Burt Watson would get zero...
Read moreWe had to replace our family vehicle after it broke down unexpectedly. Burt Watson is local and their online inventory had options in our price range. The sales staff was friendly and offered a nice vehicle for us to drive while the one we were purchasing was being prepared. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the quality of the clean-up/repairs prior to our taking possession of the new-to-us vehicle. We sent it back twice to be cleaned inside and were promised it would be 'detailed'. There was still trash from the previous owner in the storage compartments, a dirty footprint on one of the doors, and visible dirt in the back seat. I specifically asked about a broken door handle and was assured it would be repaired. The second time I asked I was told 'We can't make any promises". When we finally took possession for the last time, we were told it couldn't be fixed because they couldn't find screws to fit the handle. Really? We understood that this was a used vehicle and not in perfect condition but we were told that a couple of specific things would be fixed before we bought it. We didn't make any further issue of it - we were tired of asking and it felt like we were expecting too much. It does make us a little concerned about the standard of future repairs considering we included a service plan in our purchase agreement. Hopefully the next experience will be even better.
UPDATE: We had to bring in the vehicle for a check engine light. Jeff in the Service Department was SOOOOO nice. He got the work done in record time - even better than promised! They also did a fantastic job of cleaning the vehicle before we picked it up. It smells wonderful and looks amazing. Whoever did the detailing clearly worked hard. :)
UPDATE #2: The vehicle we purchased was totaled following an accident this past winter. The insurance settlement did not cover the remaining balance on our loan but thankfully we purchased GAP coverage. We have had nothing but trouble filing a claim. Nobody ever answers the phone number on our GAP contract. There has been no response from the GAP company when we submitted a claim in writing. Now our loan is past due because we cannot afford payments on the totaled vehicle and the replacement vehicle. Research into the GAP coverage provider was very disconcerting. Not a single positive review to be found dating back several years. We're wondering if Burt Watson knew this when they sold us the coverage. We regret wasting...
Read moreMy 2003 Red TJ Sport Wrangler had 167,000 miles of smiles on it when it was stolen, and chopped into a million pieces by professional Jeep thieves on the mean streets of Chicago. I was beside myself, Jeepless for the first time in 18 years. Thankfully, I had a Jeep mountain bike and a broken in pair of Adidas....but...nothing could replace my Jeep aka "The Eagle" aka "Denny Ducket the Bucket". My list was not long, but proved to be a unicorn, at least by Chicago standards. I wanted a 4X4, truck or Jeep, V6 or V8 engine, runs on gasoline, clean car fax, less than 100,000 miles and less than $15K. March turned to April turned to May and I had just about given up hope. I was losing weight, riding my bike and taking the CTA with all of Chicago's crack heads to and from work. I bought a Smith and Wesson switch blade and kept it clipped to my bra strap. It was all working out. Safety first. Then on One sunny Sunday, my Mother in Michigan called and said, "My dear Leyla, you need to look at something. Pull up your internet. It's just like Denny Ducket but better!" The minute she said "Red Rubicon", I started shaking in my high heeled shoes. Images of Butterflies and red robins and French Toast made with Spatz's bread started swimming in my head. I called the credit union and they cut a check, sight unseen to a brown-eyed guy named MİLES with the Smiles. When you know you know, this Vehicle was made for me. Straight outta the UP and up for a new adventure in the Big City with Little Leyla and her Jeep friends over at Windy City Jeephers and Midwest Jeep Authority. Never underestimate the Army that will come to your rescue when you need a vehicle with a Rock Country Lift. Catch me outside this summer. The Jeep thieves were caught by the Tri County Task Force on Auto Theft. Patty at Tri County approved this message when she proclaimed, "We Got Em, Leyla! Your Eagle brought em down! Now go get your next Jeep!" If she's a Jeeper, she's a Keeper. May my new Red Jeep get just as many Miles of Smiles as the old one. May my new to me Jeep be the best vehicle for me for years to come, and may it bring Instacarted groceries and Team Rubicon relief and joy to those around me in my city. Ladies and Gentleman, meet "Justice Elevated," brought to me by Miles with the Smiles Bennet, straight outta...
