Ive been going to this range since I was a kid, it used to be a great place/range that did good, respectable business, but since the hiring of new employees, that no longer seems to be the case. I was owed range time due to a misunderstanding last time I was there where my lane that I had already paid for was rented out to another customer when I had left the range area momentarily to have 2 older employees at the shop counter examine a revolver malfunction at the range supervisor’s request/recommendation. Today when I returned to use that range time the new blonde range rental lady basically said she wont honor the time Im owed because the range rental lady that was working there last time no longer works there and she “dont have anything to do with that”…she was standing there acting like I was seriously trying to jip the range for the $25 lane fee or something when Im ready to buy $200+ in ammo from them…..and she had no interest in trying to work out the issue and just stood there staring at me until I left instead of getting her boss/manager or the 2 other employees (that examined my revolver malfunction) that were there that day and could...

I recently completed a safety course, qualified, and received my blue card. Yesterday, I walked into Sakonnet River Outfitters to explore firearms for purchase, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

I first met Connor, who was incredibly patient with all of my questions. As a woman who is still relatively new to firearms, I really appreciated his guidance and encouragement. He suggested I try shooting a few different firearms so I could find the one that felt right for me. After watching a short video and signing a waiver, I was introduced to Skip, the Range Officer.

Even though I had some prior training, I’m still learning, and Skip spent the entire hour with me. He walked me through several techniques, explaining not just how to do them, but why they work — building my confidence and helping me shoot more accurately.

By far the best range I've been to. Not that I've been to hundreds but I've been to a handful in the area. The owner is just fantastic. Knowledgeable extremely patient extremely informative and helpful. Didn't get that kind of service at any other range! In fact one of the ranges I went into for the very first time ever and there wasn't even anybody there to check my license, drivers or otherwise. Nobody to ask questions to. It was horrible and I'll never go back. Not to mention the fact they didn't open the gate for over half hour later than they were supposed to. This place was great. Is a woman that also works there who was very nice and very informative as well. I believe this is a family-owned business and the owner himself taught me more in that one hour than I learned in 4 hours of a classroom. Especially regarding all aspects of the different guns.
