We went there on Labor Day this year. The Bartender was one of the rudest people I have ever met in my entire life. We wanted to sit at the bar but it was full, so we took a table. Before we were waited on, 4 bar seats opened up. A man came in after us and took one of the seats. We went over to grab two of the other seats and the bartender told us he had someone else coming. Ok, that's fine. There are three seats we can all fit. She let him take the two middle seats and did not allow us to sit at the bar. She was only interested in taking care of her regular clients.
We went back to our table, ordered a drink and then two more seats opened up. It was extremely hot at our table and I said to my partner that I wanted to go to the bar because the mini split was there. We moved over to the newly opened seats and the bartender barked at us that we had to wait because she needed to clean it. We waited and she gave us a hard time for leaving the table we were at. I told her that I wanted to move over because it was really hot over in the corner. She looked at me and barked "I don't know what to tell you, it's hot everywhere." Literally yelled at us in front of other customers because we wanted to move.
At this point, I looked at my partner and said, "I don't like her attitude, let's go". We walked out and in my opinion, the restaurant lost out. We went to the Lobster Pot in Bristol, which is expensive. We dropped over 200.00 there because we went for the food, but stayed for the great atmosphere and the very entertaining bartender.
It's been over a month since this experience, but the whole thing is still bugging me. We have gone there several times and have enjoyed the food. As long as this lady is working, we...
Read moreWas told on the phone the wait for a table on Friday May 29th Friday night was 25 minutes (they don’t take reservations on Friday and Saturday nights)we then arrived and was told the wait for a table was 55 minutes. After 55 minutes we expected a table and was told the wait would be an ADDITIONAL 55 minutes!!! finally after 2 hours and 5 minutes we were told our table was ready- not a booth but a small table near the window that could barely seat three people. After such a long wait we asked if they could courtesy comp 2 drinks for the wait and the inconvenience and was told by management they would not do anything except a free dessert. The food was not at all as good as it usually is, was quickly prepared lacked flavor. Now we ask you.. is this how you run a restaurant proficiently?? The people running the dining room have no concept of how many they can accommodate and by NOT taking reservations you can’t estimate any wait times???? Our advice is not venture here on the weekends if you value your free time. The prices are higher than in previous times as well. Management never came to the table to apologize for the wait. There are so many other great restaurants in the Tiverton /Newport Ri area to experience. We will not be...
Read moreI met a friend there this evening for dinner. I was a little early but the hostess was willing to seat me at a booth. Given past experiences meeting friends, I decided to wait until my friend arrived before being seated. She actually was on time and arrived about five minutes later. We were taken to a booth, greeted by an Associate, and introduced to our waitress (Dawn). Service was prompt and, we were given ample time to review the menu and place our order. My friend ate light. She ordered an appetizer bruschetti (? spelling) which she shared with me. Absolutely delicious! She also had a cup of clam chowder that she very much enjoyed. I had a full meal of chicken breasts with feta cheese and spinach. For my two selections accompanying the meal I picked the vegetable of the day and rice. It was served nice and hot and tasted very good. The atmosphere was cozy and was a great place to talk and catch up on details of happenings in one another's lives. (No overpowering music that makes conversation difficult, if not impossible). Although we didn't avail ourselves, there is a beverage (alcohol) list and an extensive dessert menu. The price range is moderate to slightly expensive, depending...
