Absolutely the best local bike shop in the Poconos! I have been going to Peterson's for 15 years. I purchased no less than 4 mountain bikes and two sets of cross country skis from Eric. He is extremely knowledgeable and is always willing to teach if you are willing to listen. I started riding early this year and my bike was badly in need of a tune up, including some new parts. Eric was still dealing mostly with skis but still took my bike in for the tune up. He order the parts I needed and started the job. That was the week all nonessential business had to close due to the virus. My bike was locked in a closed bike shop! I was planning on riding everyday, ugh! Eric called me first because he personally knew how much I used my bike. He told me that he was going to go in and finish my bike even though he was closed to the public. He let me know when the bike was done and let me in to pick it up. Even then he took the time to go over everything he did and answered all of my questions. I've put 200 miles on that bike since then. I couldn't be happier! It's completely silent and friction free. I feel like I'm riding a new bike! My daughter and I went to get a seasonal rental for her. The staff was very polite and went over the seasonal rental policy. I work with a nice elderly man who seemed like he was the manager. Went over how we should set up the equipment for her . I specifically asked him if the helmet was included he said yes. That he could do that... No problems we set the skis up paid the bill. As we were trying on the helmet. Younger man said that we would have to pay for the season rental on the helmet. I explained to him that I specifically asked and he was throwing it in... I rented a season rental from another ski shop by montage their helmet was included in my son's rental package with no problem.. the bottom line is if you're going to tell someone something is included just included don't deny that you said it.. my ten-year-old daughter herd me ask and heard your answer... I'm sorry that I didn't get the equipment your equipment was in like new condition. To everyone make sure you read all the details and ask as many questions.. all the manager had to tell me is that it was $10 more and I would have paid it out of pocket. Never tried to resolve the problem just quickly refunded me...

Yesterday I stopped by Peterson's bike shop with a bicycle problem that no one could fix. My rear wheel started rubbing the one side of the frame. I went over expecting to have to drop off my bike to get it serviced later, but they made time for me right away! I know no business could do that every time, but I was amazed and grateful! Their bike mechanic Tom was awesome, he found the problem and repaired my wheel by adjusting all my spokes. Now the bike rides straight as an arrow! I rode the bike after it was repaired, no issues! Tom also checked the rest of the bike and made some additional adjustments. I went here because they are local, but also because they have great reviews. Peterson's bike shop is the real deal! GREAT FRIENDLY KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF! I will be a regular customer going forward and I highly recommend...
