The venue is decent & the event was amazing but that goofy with the 1800's mustache that was working the door was very rude & disrespectful to the people of color that came. We paid attention to his interactions with the white people & it was always polite & patient. But the people of color were met with attitude & were rushed to produce their ticket. He even told one young girl who didn't realize the event was ticketed that she had to get out when she told him she was going to contact her mother who was one of the entertainers at the event. The Hippo working the bar also had a very stank energy. They gave the entire establishment bad vibes & I will never go back & will be sure to let any other person of color to steer clear. It's not a welcoming environment for us. Also, You have to pay $2 for a bottle of water, even if all you wanted was ice. Lol! It's sad when people can't treat everyone equally or just be professional for the sake of business. Now the whole establishment looks bad because of 2 sorry, disrespectful staff members. & this was my 1st time ever going there....
Read moreBeen going to Frankie's for about 25 years now. For the average concert goer: It is everything you want from an intimate music venue. Think CBGB, but in Toledo, Ohio! Spacious floor with a spacious smoking patio and a beautiful bar that runs the length of the floor. The house boasts two sets of bathrooms and a rec area apart from the bar and stage side. There one can find band merch, show announcements, a pool table, and additional seating for socializing. The intimate environment makes you feel very much like you are a part of the show, and its easy to meet the folks from the band you have come to see!
For the talent: The loading door is just a couple feet from the stage, making it ideal for back lining. There is parking immediately in front of the venue, again making loads in/out a breeze! The sound guy, Jay, is a well known local icon as well as a hard-working, dedicated, reliable, easy going fella, and quite good at what he...
Read moreStopped into Frankie's for their goth night and it was absolutely perfect! This venue is a Toledo staple for punk and goth, and it really shows. The dark, grungy atmosphere created the ideal vibe for the event. The patio, with its vibrant graffiti and colored lights, offered a fun and funky contrast to the interior. The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, keeping things running smoothly all night. The music was spot-on, with a great lineup of DJs playing a diverse set. The crowd was just as fantastic – everyone was pleasant and fun to be around. Overall, it was a truly fantastic night out, and Frankie's was the perfect venue to make it happen. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great goth night or just a cool, alternative...
