I’ve never been a happy camper with the Monnette family. I was 23 years old when I was guaranteed and promised a job at Monnette’s Market. My friend John worked there and he told me I had the job 100%. When I came in for my interview, I thought things went perfectly. I was actually supposed to be hired on the spot, but I wasn’t a few days later. John told me that I wasn’t hired because I was too good. Looking to be around the 1718-year-old High school girls that they have working there. I was furious! Today, I am sitting outside of Monnette’s Market. Prices are outrageous if they can Sell plants at $50 apiece, they can definitely pay their employees better. My fiancé is working there currently, but hopefully not too long. She does not understand that she is making these people rich and they do not care about her at all! They don’t even get breaks. Why? Because it’s not law anymore? What’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong. We cannot live off of these wages at 40 hours a week. She deserves $21 an hour and so does everybody else that works here. If five guys hamburgers can pay $21.50, they can pay at least $20. They are slave drivers and Greedy! As the significant other of someone who works there, I am disgusted! No discounts either by the way! Again, greedy owners that believe they own slaves. Times...
Read moreRecently moved back to the Ohio area and didnt realize how much I missed the hometown feel of shopping at places like Monnettes Market. They offer good, quality fruits, vegtables & deli lunchmeat at prices that just cant be beat! So much so that it makes you really see how much the owner really cares about their customers by keeping prices affordable but still offering many selections. Monnettes really lets u see how they big box grocery stores are ripping us off charging sky high prices for their stuff and lots of times giving u smaller sizes...Like how can a small hometown store offer such great product at VERY reasonable prices but stores like Kroger are charging twice as much if not more for the same items?🧐🤔......
THANK YOU to the owner of the Monnettes' Market on Glendale in Toledo (the 1 I shop at closest to my home) for keeping prices low, quality of items you sell high & for not following behind these big box grocery chain stores who are price gouging customers like myself, who just want to be able to feed our families & be able to afford good, quality meats, fruits & vegatables (along with...
Read morei really dislike giving "small local businesses" bad reviews, but this "small local business" has AI slop signs all over the store. Please do not shop and support businesses that engage in this practice. Its so crazy that in 2025 a "small local business" would rather fake its photos because its target audience of 55+ cant tell. How do i know? Go to any LLM and ask it to "make a cartoonish insert food here" and you will get these exact images. You could pay a local hs art student max $20 to make all of those sign arts. you could even find someone online for max $10 to make those signs. If they are this sloppy and immoral about something as small as signs, imagine how sloppy they could be with food processing? with cleanliness? With its employees? I get most people who are reading this review might not understand how terrible this is, as i know the audience is too old to understand how bad this looks on a business, but please do not support these people until the signs...
