Sunrise Skillet — Restaurant in Toledo

This was my second time dining here at Sunrise Skillet and I was disappointed. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and my food was burnt. I could taste the bitterness of the burnt tortilla in every bite and my food drowned in their "Rancheros sauce." Each bite got salty-er and more bitter that I couldn't finish my plate. At one point, I scraped everything off the tortilla hoping that it was just the tortilla that was burnt. But unfortunately, the chorizo and beans were burnt as well. Basically, I force-fed myself because I kept thinking "Maybe it'll be better the more I taste it." And I didn't want to waste the food.

The first time I dined here though, I ordered the classic eggs benedict and it was alright. It wasn't bad, but it's not scrumptious either. It was just "okay."

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place. But I know there are plenty of other people who enjoy...

UPDATE: Unfortunately, I had to lower service from 5 to 3. We were there on Saturday and they were so busy, that we had a hard time getting someone's attention for things we needed. It also seemed like it took an inordinate amount of time to even order. Never had this happen before this, so since there were only 2 servers to a packed house, I know that was the problem. I'm sure I'll find myself raising it back to 5 stars soon! Been going here for several years. Not only is the food good, but the wait staff is prompt and very friendly! They remember my name and always talk to me when I come in! Right now, their special for breakfast is a pumpkin waffle with homemade apple cider...

Recommended by my big brother my hubs and I stopped in for lunch. Quaint little spot that was open for eat in customers. The waitress was very nice and the food came out fairly quickly. I could see the cook from where I was sitting and he seemed to be in an okay mood. We ordered two Reuben sandwiches with fries.
