I canceled my membership today after 16+ years and tens of thousands in spend. Why? Costco no longer cares about their members and does not stand behind their guarantees.
DO NOT BUY TIRES FROM BRYAN AT THIS COSTCO. I purchased a brand new set of four Bridgestone tires in May. When I purchased the tires, the technician never placed a sticker in my windshield with mileage indicator for when the tires needed to be rotated. I went slightly over the recommended 7500 miles, when I had them rotated for the first time less five weeks ago. When I came in five weeks ago for the rotation, I was told that everything looked great and they put a sticker in my vehicle for the next rotation.
Today, I hit something in the road while driving on a busy highway. I pulled off as soon as I could safely, as I knew the tire was punctured, and my tire light had come on. I had my car towed to Costco instead of trying to drive on it. I called Costco ahead of time to let them know what had happened and that my car would be towed there.
As soon as I got there, Bryan who is the tire center manager at Tomball immediately began berating me. He repeatedly told me that he saw a heat ring around my tire and that I must’ve been driving on under-inflated tires as this does not “just appear”. He also asked me why I had the car towed and why could I not have just put on a spare?? What???
I have never experienced such rude and disrespectful service — ever. He was essentially berating me for being a woman and talking down to me like I was ignorant.
I repeatedly explained to him that I was not driving on under-inflated tires, and that I knew I hit something in the road, and that I felt the vibration when the tire was punctured, and my light came on. He repeatedly told me I was wrong.
Bryan then came out to tell me there was a large hole in my tire and disappeared for about 20 minutes. When he came out again, he asked to look at my car manual. After about 15 additional minutes a different manager came out and told me that they would not be honoring their Warranty, as I had slightly exceeded the interval for the first tire rotation.
I explained that no sticker had been placed in my window, and I guesstimated and went slightly over inadvertently. Again, These were BRAND NEW tires purchased about 4 months ago. There was no tread wear, and I had just had the vehicle aligned the week that the tires were purchased.
I promptly cancelled my membership. Costco no longer values their long time customers and I see no need to continue as a member when Sam’s and H-E-B have both tremendously stepped up their game with their product selection, quality and pricing.

MERCHANDISE Did not have the same items as 11 miles down the street, so will have to make a second trip for low sodium marinera. Had to hunt for monster energy drink, with baby wipes and water near milk rather than with other energy drinks. Do not carry full size cliff bars, just toddler size. Only carrying Adidas sneakers, no Puma, no Nike.

Read moreIt's okay. I like the convenience of having it close to home. Believe it or not. The employees are more helpful at the Willowbrook location. Some of the self check cashiers at Tomball location prefer chatting it up together rather than helping customers scan and get out of there. Also, most of the employees that I have encountered that do the sampling are super rude and clueless as to what they are even handling out as samples. One even told me, "Can you read the sign?" I think retraining is needed!!! I also wish they stocked some of the items I would purchase at the Willowbrook location. Not a make or break for me, but it would be nice.
