Pros: If you're into journaling/stickers/washi tape, this is the store for you. Huge variety in that department. Some wax seal supplies Markers/pens Some humorous products
Cons: Classes - keep your receipt at all costs because if the staff do not write your name down, you're SOL. Paid for a class a month ago, show up on class day to find my name is not on the roster, tried showing the relatively large charge (with transaction number/date/amount) but either they couldn't find it or were too frazzled to manage to look it up. Wouldn't have mattered, class was full and the 'teacher' didn't have any extra products (what if someone's product doesn't work, how would she replace it?). Overall - products are overpriced, not surprised given the area. Personnel (the day I went with my team) did not know where to find specific products found on the website. Side note for the instructor - if you don't want people (not me) reading your journal entries, maybe keep the more personal ones at home and leave out the snarky comment to the person looking at your 'sample'. This is not a scrapbook store unless you rely heavily on washi tape and stickers.
Edit - found my receipt, class was paid for.
Update: Owner went out of her way to hunt me down and comp me the class of my choice. So I chose a journaling class that was less on journaling and more on decorating.
I really wanted to love this place but the classes and high prices just aren't worth it. The teachers are only preparing enough 'packets' for the number of names they're provided, which leaves zero wiggle room for mistakes (which I'm proof they happen). Class links are disabled before the class takes place, so if the teacher updates the list of items to bring, there's no way of knowing it. The most recent class I attended, the instructor had the wrong packs (she didn't check them?), so many of us couldn't finish our projects because we had the wrong decor packs, directions weren't clear, incorrect measurements and it was, overall, a discorganized class. I also find it strange that they hold classes where none of the products used in the class are available in the store. How does this...
ย ย ย Read moreI absolutely love this store- but was a bit disappointed in my latest experience! I was given a gift card over the holidays because my family knows I LOVE to shop here! I spent about 30 minutes grabbing the items I love and went to check out and use my gift card. There I found out, that apparently there is two different gift cards you can buy, one strictly for the online store and one strictly for the brick and mortar- still the lovely lady at the front told me people have successfully used their online gift cards in store before. The other employee (tall gray haired lady) was very adamant about not being able to use the gift card in store, but the original employee tried to find all of the items at the online store and use my gift card to buy them and use โin person pickupโ- however for whatever reason in person pick up is not an option and I must pay for shipping. So even though I am holding the items in my hand, I have a gift card to pay for them, there was no way for me to complete the purchase. I was told that I would have to buy everything online, pay for shipping, and then wait for it to arrive even though I was standing at the checkout line with a valid gift card and my basket full of items. This experience was super disappointing as I have been a loyal customer and referred many people to this place, and thoroughly believe in supporting small businesses like this one. I ended up leaving with my gift card and no items. I now have a gift card I donโt want to use, and had a horrible experience in a place I used to love. Thank you to the employee who tried to help me, while her (tall gray haired lady) manager was very adamant on refusing to help...
ย ย ย Read moreThere years later and I'm here to add!!! Such a great shop. Long time customer since before the shop moved and I just had the pleasure of teaching my first class here. The owners are always ready to listen to their customers whether it be feedback or asking if the shop will carry certain items. Eunice researches the best products to use in the store and Ian gets all kinds of things done for his sweet wife. Their daughters are always good for a chuckle and also helpful. The staff that has been added over the years are a joy to visit with and I genuinely enjoy finding new hobbies I never knew I needed when I walked in. This place is magical. People sharing their craftiness and people teaching to the rest of us. Always and forever my favorite shop.
One of a kind shop. Owners are genuinely friendly and knowledgeable about all your planner, paper, and import needs. This is their new location. It's got much more space than the last one including a space for a variety of classes and meet-ups. Check out their FB and website for classes - everything from planning, to crafting, to younger kid activities taught by their amazing entrepreneurial daughters. Sweet people, amazing store, great experiences. Tell them...
