I bought some flowers from this shop not too long ago. I picked out the arrangements of the flowers that I wanted. So while I waited I asked if I could use the restroom, well why did I do that? Because when I went to the restroom the people making my arrangement saw that I was a person of color and ofcourse they didn't put their all into my arrangement, instead of plenty of pretty flowers just like in the picture, they nearly flooded my arrangement with a bunch of leaves, you know the "fillers" which really down played the entire arrangement. Then the people in the front who were serving me, yes they were being "friendly" in my face, so I decided to give them a small tip and THEN that's when they gave me a proper box for my glass vase and a card to stick in my flowers, yes they were really about to let me walk out of there with a whole glass vase with absolutely no protection for it. SO it took me giving them a tip just so they could give me the basic service I should have been given in the first place. But little did these silly people know, those flowers that I was buying was for a person who look like them, so they really wasn't hurting me, and just imagine if the woman I bought those flowers for had put a picture of those arrangement of flowers on her social media for the world to see? Trust and believe it would have made them look very bad if she did. Since then I have never been back. How about some advice....Just do your job! Gees do you have to be a racist all of the time. Please go some place else, because if they will treat anyone that way, they will eventually treat...
Read moreFor the first year or so of our courtship my husband used Porterfield’s florists. I received long stemmed arrangements with proper wiring where needed and a tape grid to keep the arrangement in place. They were beautiful. The past year or so I have been receiving vase after vase full of more and more dirty rocks, not decorative stones, something you scoop off the side of the road, filled to the brim of the vase and only foam. No free flowing moisture for the flowers. The flowers crammed into the foam tightly packed, no long carefully preserved stems or wiring. The rocks pull the moisture out of the foam and the flowers and the flowers die quickly without proper hydration. I managed a flower shop for years. We would never present a customer with this type of lazy shoddy design work. My husband is very generous with his floral purchases, so o know it is not his doing. I called and requested they stop this practice and they said they have filled the vases with rocks for 10 years. Well, I have pictures of their arrangements from the last 4 years and can tell you differently. If I could add pictures to this post I would, including the ball of blunder with the Malificient horns stick out of it for my birthday in 2018. Their quality and customer care has plummeted since the new design manager has started. I called and asked them not to continue this practice and they said if we don’t like it then use another florist. Okay, we will and will share that particular response with our friends. Perhaps losing more than one account of several hundred dollars a year will start...
Read moreI usually order from another Topeka florist, but they told me they did Not have enough daises to make the bouquet I wanted. Then I called Portersfeld and told them what happened with previous florist and my wish for the specific flower. Mom rec’d the bouquet with daises and two other kinds of flowers. I am disappointed the lady wasn’t up front with me about not having daises. Will not call them again.
Christy phoned me today to talk about my recent order, see above. She was genuinely concerned and wanted to make it right. Bottom line, there was a miscommunication between who took my order by phone and the floral designer. I appreciate this business’s professionalism and integrity. A solution was mutually agreed upon. I am changing my star...
