Riesbeck's — Local services in Toronto

Went in today to get a cake for my son's birthday. We love Reisbecks cakes and usually get one for everyone's birthdays throughout the year. But, we will no longer be getting any more cakes from Reisbecks. First of all, the woman who tried to write Happy 13th Birthday made it look like I let my 13yr old himself write it. When she picked up the piping bag, old crusty dried up frosting flew out of the top of the bag and all over the cake. She didnt bother to remove it either, just proceeded to write over it. I will likely have to scrape off what she wrote and all the little dried up bits off the top of the cake. I wanted to purchase some extra frosting but was told I couldn't because "the baker is on vacation." I quote that because for the last YEAR I have been coming into this store, every single time I have asked something of the bakery I am told "the baker is on vacation." I doubt any one has that much vacation time. But, the woman who ruined our cake shouldn't have wrote on it if she isn't authorized to even sell some frosting from the bakery. It was a complete disappointment and we left the store angry. We will not be back and I am very disappointed...

Th is is a,place of convenience. It is the only store in the town if you don't want to travel 10 miles to another grocery store. They are very limited in their stock and Every time I have gone I to the store for fruits and vegetables they looked terrible and very limited in these as well. The got prepared good sits under a light for several hours and looks dry. I put based a while chicken I e time which it looked ok from the outside but the inside was horribble, very dry and over cooked.....never again. I will only get necessities there if I have to. The prices are extremely high and most of the elderly thart are on fixed incomes shop here for convenience. I myself will travel the extra miles to go to a better store. Toronto needs a better grocery store...

Went to pic up online order after getting email that said it would be ready at 630pm. When I got there, phone number to call didn't work. Called store. Order wasn't pulled. Placed on hold. Came back and said it would take awhile to pull the order because the "pullers" leave at 5. I reminded them I placed the order around 2pm. She asked for my phone number and said she'd call me right back after she called her manager. 12 min later she called back and said I could cancel my order or wait 15 - 20 min for them to pull it. I cancelled. It was a 8 item, $22.05 order. WHY would that take...
