For somewhere close to 20 years, I've maintained my same phone number with US Cellular, a testament to my satisfaction with coverage and brand loyalty. In that time, I've encountered numerous in-person and online customer service interactions, and while some were exemplary, all of them were courteous, friendly, respectful and tried their best to be helpful. That level of customer service seemed to be universal and up until last week's appalling experience at the Prairie du Chien (PDC) location, was something that could be expected. My visit was initiated the day before by the Lancaster US Cellular location— easy-peasy: all I needed in PDC was to sign paperwork for an account transfer. The visit started normally, a young guy wearing pearls named “Brandon” said hello and while obviously confused post -explanation of why I was at his store, he was at least polite. I tried again to clearly and succinctly explain that all I had to do was add my signature to the account-transfer paperwork. All this did was compound Brandon’s confusion and after 5 or so minutes on the computer, he excused himself to go in back; This prolonged absence while he looked for something left me sitting at the desk for another 10-ish minutes. When he came back out front, I was clearly frustrated at my inability to clearly articulate in layman’s terms what I was there to do and this in turn, foreshadowed the remainder of my visit. It was at this point an ill-kempt, shaggy appearing gentleman named “Ryan” came over by Brandon, and with him, a level of condescending arrogance I've rarely been made to tolerate. Instead of quietly/ politely addressing the situation—i.e.: to sign paperwork pre-approved by the Lancaster store —Ryan used me being there as an opportunity to get on his soap box and repeatedly infer that I was attempting to do something "illegal," even going so far as to compare my request to that of trying to "illegally falsify a vehicle title." He postulated, for the benefit of every other customer in the store that, "… WE don't do things like THAT at this location.” His tone was not only dismissive, it was accusatory. You are so right, I should’ve left at that point, but by now I’d wasted almost 45 minutes of my day, and I’ve never been accused as a quitter- so after the umpteenth time to clarify my visit in Barney-style-easy-to-understand words, it must’ve gone in one ear and out of the other because nothing changed except that Ryan implied the franchise-owned Lancaster location was sub-par to the corporate-owned PDC location. I may have to politely disagree: this was not a "franchise-versus-corporate" issue— This was an issue of gross unprofessionalism, the complete disregard for customer service, and a profound lack of basic respect: Seriously Ryan, comparing a simple paperwork situation to a felony is not only ridiculous, it’s also deeply offensive. If Ryan represents the standard of customer service at corporate- owned US Cellular locations, I will gladly drive out of my way to the "franchise" stores. Fortunately for Ryan, I’m not his supervisor but perhaps his current management team can use this situation as an opportunity for some remedial staff education of how NOT to “ manage” a corporate-owned location or talk to customers; for Ryan, the training could be a two-fer with some basic self-care suggestions, namely that washing/ brushing, or cutting over-the-collar, stringy and VERY obvious greasy hair can (and will) present part of that professional appearance we’ve...

In Nov 2018 I switched to US Cellular because Verizon does not service our area in NE Ia. My experience with the US Cellular PdC office has been nothing but disappointing and misleading. When I switched over I was suppose to get a free phone with a plan. I told them I use less than 2GG a month. They signed me up for the promotion and I was suppose to get the phone free but said it takes a few months for the promotion to kick in and then I would see a credit. After 4 months, I continued to get charged for the phone. Called Corp US Cellular. They said I was signed up under the wrong plan. The correct plan was more expensive and actually cost me more for the extra GB than to actually pay for the phone. I have since switched to another plan for less GB and am paying for the rest of the phone. The same day I got the phone they put on a protector, told me to send in for the protector warranty. Found out from the protector company they applied a protector that had no warranty. Recently asked them to take the insurance off one of my phones and repeated SEVERAL times which line the insurance was suppose to be removed from. Got a letter from the insurance company and they took the insurance off my phone instead of the one they were suppose to take it off of. Customer beware. These employees are either not trained properly or just don't give a hoot. I'm not techy and believe this cell phone business is a racket, however, I do understand when I'm not getting a good deal and poor service. The Prairie du Chien US Cellular office on Selch Road gave me very poor and inaccurate service three times. Highly do...

You can buy the same stuff from Walmart for 5 dollars!!!! .I also discovered I could have gotten the same phone at Walmart for 100 cheaper......Not only that but he talked me into buying some "accessories" saying id get a 30 percent discount....which i didnt get... i guess im stupid for being so trusting and should have read my sales receipt before i left the...
