I am one of those individuals who, given a choice, between shopping for furniture or undergoing root canal would gladly choose the latter. And, as a married couple of fifty-eight years, my wife and I have undergone this chore on more occasions than I care to remember.
Thankfully, gratefully, mercifully … All that changed when we walked into the La-Z-Boy store in Patchogue on a multi-week quest to replace both our living room and kitchen furniture alike. Never – I repeat – never has a furniture shopping trip been as pleasurable as that day and all that ensued.
Upon entering the store, we were greeted by Heather who, learning what we were interested in, guided us to the right area and then left us to browse at our leisure. A short while later, as we were seated on a couch that we liked and discussing how it would fit into our specific requirements, Heather came over and joined us. We explained our quandary; ours is a great room concept with a large expanse of windows, one where kitchen area, living room, dining room and entrance foyer all combine. Hearing this, she provided all of the specific dimensions. But insisted that before ordering we return home to verify our measurements.
She also further suggested we avail ourselves of a complimentary service La-Z-Boy provides. Namely, to meet with a designer who would visit us in our home, sketch everything out, and prepare a 3-D rendering of how it would all come together.
Enter Mariah into the picture who, upon learning of our color palate came out to visit us along with her tape measure, tablet, some swatches of materials, and few rug samples we might consider.
A few days later we were back in the store where both women utilized a large screen monitor to demonstrate how and which items would work best. And, as they learned our preferences and tastes, they further guided us to additional fabrics, as we’ll as to assess which cocktail tables and end tables would best fit into the design.
Another trip back and forth to our home for us as we looked to see how our latest choices would look. It should be noted at this point and at no time did we undergo any pressure “to buy.” Instead, it was constant reassurance by both women that only when we were completely happy with our choices should we solidify and place our order.
My wife and I honestly have to say that what impressed us both throughout this entire shopping experience was how the staff remained not only pleasant, they actually listened to what we said and did everything in their power to accommodate us.
So, if you are shopping for furniture – please be sure to pay...
Read moreThe Patchogue showroom was much bigger inside than it looked from the outside, which was a pleasant surprise for me. The inside of the showroom was neat and pleasing to the eye. There were lots of LaZBoy items on display. After a few minutes of looking around on our own we were approached by a very friendly store representative named Mariah. She showed various models of LaZBoy recliners to me based on my height and physical build, and the features that I was looking for. I can't stress how important it is to actually visit the store and physically try out the chairs if you're interested in purchasing a new recliner. A representative has to be able to physically match you with the right sized chair. Mariah was quite knowledgeable about the products she was selling and she had a "no pressure" approach to us. After I selected the exact model that I wanted, we sat down with her to talk about options and pricing. Afterwards, we asked if we could come back later after thinking about the price, and doing some shopping around. Because this was the first store that we went to for such an item, we had no other basis for prices and features. My wife and I went out for lunch, and after doing some online research while we eat our lunch, we realized that even though La-Z-Boy is somewhat pricey, it was worth paying the premium price for high quality furniture and reliability in the long run. We return to the store after an hour and we specifically looked for Mariah again. She was so pleasant and such a joy to deal with, that we wanted her to get the credit for the sale. Our conversation with her made me feel that I wasn't just buying a chair, I was buying into a long time company with a reliable reputation. The next time I'm in the market for another La-Z-Boy, I'll definitely make my purchase in this...
Read moreI am pleased to leave a review as this store has exceeded my expectations. Firstly, the manager John is a true asset to Lazyboy! So much so he DESERVES a salary increase! He was extremely patient, friendly and offered up fantastic deals. I'm so satisfied with his service that I urge anyone shopping for the Lazyboy products; please see John in Patchogue!! The other employees were wonderful to deal with as well, and I just wish I could remember the two women's names that helped me along the way. They currently have a huge sales in progress, which was why besides my power rocker recliner I purchased two awesome leather pillows. I am a repeat customer, and bought my first swivel, rocker recliner in '97. As far as I'm concerned Lazyboy is synonymous with QUALITY!! And their products are made in the U.S.A. 🇺🇸 Doesn't get any better then that. Happy shopping folks, and be sure to ask...
