Long story short: Would not recommend. Bad customer care. Questionable vehicles for sale.
Long story: We visited Newman as they came highly recommended and they had the car we were interested in buying for our family. Initially test drove it and did like it, but noted that it did slip some when changing gears. We mentioned that to the salesman, whom stated it was fully checked prior to being listed and there were no issues found - so all was well. We questioned how much they would give us for a possible trade on our current vehicle, and chose to not take that offer as it was significantly lower than we could sell it private party (and lower than other dealers had offered us). We let them know we would pass. No big deal. We decided to think about it as we do not like to buy right on the spot, and later messaged to make a deal and was offered $16100 which was a great deal and it was noted it was being sold as is so they wouldn't check out the slipping. We pulled the money from our savings, checked over the carfax, and went back for a second test drive. We questioned the fact that it had transmission work since we noted the slip, which seemed to be cleared up with service records they shared. We had basically decided to buy the vehicle by time we were done with the second test drive cause of the records and figured we just didn't know how this one drove being we had not had this vehicle before. Went inside to make the deal to find out that the offer they offered us included the trade in we told them we were NOT interested in, so they deal they told us was not on the table and we would have to pay $16.9 instead. We walked away with a sick feeling in our stomachs. We ultimately decided to offer them $16.5, and messaged them. We heard nothing back from them. We waited until the afternoon the next business day and then called as we still hadn't heard back. I got transferred to the salesman whom helped us, and he sounded very annoyed that I had called. Even my husband gave me a look at his tone since I had him on speaker phone. Like sorry to inconvenience you dude. He said they couldn't accept it, so we walked away and went to visit other dealers.
All that being said, we test drove a very comparable vehicle after dealing with them that had zero slipping or hesitation at all - so obviously our hunch was right that the vehicle has an issue and we dodged a huge bullet due to their stubbornness and lack of...
Read moreI do not recommend buying a vehicle from this dealership. I bought a used 2017 GMC Acadia. The salesman sold me the vehicle and no matter what we offered, they wouldn't budge on the price. I ended up with an overpriced vehicle that I'm still paying to have parts fixed on it. When I got the vehicle, I didn't understand why the USB ports weren't working (I only had a vehicle with a CD player prior to this piece of junk they sold me). When I called the service parts shop they wanted me to pay the service fee just to look at the vehicle I just bought from them. Turns out the USB ports were not working at all. Took my vehicle in and they agreed to waive the fee to look at USB ports that were broken when I received the vehicle! They gave me a used vehicle with NO gas and NO windshield wiper fluid, which I almost ended up in an accident from not being able to see. I filled up the tank so I could get home and topped off the windshield wiper fluid out of MY pocket. Your welcome! Then they called me to say my USB port is all fixed, come and pick up the truck. I get there, plug in my phone and the USB STILL DOESN'T WORK. I go back in and tell the service parts guy and he looks at me in shock and claims I'm wrong. Guy comes out and plugs in his phone and shocked I was right. They claim they have the part for it and offered to fix it, but from the experience there I will never go back. I would rather pay for the part myself and have a family auto shop put it in for me while they fix my windshield wiper pump that stopped working. Oh and it took the service shop two times to know how to fix the "shift to park" which is a common issue with the Acadia's. Also, It was fun being left stranded in a parking lot because the battery for the car was a junk brand (confirmed it was not stock from a family friend auto shop we go to) and couldn't hold a charge, hence more money out of my pocket. This was all within the first six months of buying the vehicle. Repaired the vehicle as a good will gesture? The parts (USB- $20, battery- $170 (my pocket), and shiftier- $83) on the vehicle were bad before it was...
Read moreBought my truck used from there. Come to find out it was sold to me without a known issue being handled. when you buy a used vehicle from a dealership especially a Chevrolet from a Chevrolet dealership as a buyer you would expect all issues, recalls and customer satisfaction programs, to be handled prior to it being sold. A customer satisfaction program for the transmission dipstick to correct a known issue was never fixed before it was sold to me. And when I brought it in I was told too bad so sad that program ended in 2014. I asked the service writer so there's nothing you can do? His response was we can repair it for $600, completely unacceptable in my book. I had been bringing my truck there for routine maintenance as well as other maintenance and/or issues but in light of this issue and how it was handled I will be taking my business elsewhere.
Hey Mark, My follow-up to your response.... Might want to check your emails/voicemails/messages because I have attempted to contact you on 3 or 4 different occasions which you have yet to respond to since July regarding this issue and another and once just to get information regarding a service special!!
You are correct those items were handled free of charge as a condition of me purchasing the vehicle, which every vehicle I have ever purchased, new or used, the dealership has handled it just as Newman did.
You sold me a truck with a known issue, and did not disclose that information to me when I purchased it... that is just shady, and not a good business model to follow. Plain and simple.
Like I said earlier I have attempted to contact you but for whatever reason, you will not return my emails or calls. You have my information on file if you want to talk in private.
I regularly take my truck there for maintenance but I will be going elsewhere as I can no longer support a dealership who does not support its clientele or stand behind...
