im a regular customer in this neighborhood grocery. i usually bring my son who has autism with speech impairment and developmental delays which includes social functions and . my son is 21 years old. he is used to this small groceries chain which is good for training in order to make choices. one day he just took starbucks drink from the fridge so i told this lady in the self checkout i will pay for it when im done shopping. she gave me a frown like im gonna run and not pay for it. i went around with my son but then he went back to get another one. so i went after him again and told the lady again ill pay for it.the short lady with a frown again told me” he’s throwing trash in the floor “ and saw the plastic wrapper from the bottle in the floor. i made my son pick it up and since i dont see a trash bin he just put it in his pocket.. now at this time i got tick off by the lady’s attitude. a frown and a small trash complain. i told her that he is a special child and it can be a challenge sometimes. she seemed to be ignorant of people with disabilities. if i was the staff i would just pick up the small trash my self and move along. it also seemed like discrimination to me because she just looked at me and it was early in the morning i did not care to fix my hair and my attire i just put on my jacket in a hurry.she was not very helpful to me as i was struggling to self checkout. she was just looking at me with a frown. eventually im done paying my groceries and told myself iIIM NOT COMING BACK TO THIS FOODTOWN VALLEY COTTAGE AGAIN. NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY AND DISCRIMINATION FROM THAT LADY IS VERY OBVIOUS. SHOUT OUT TO THE MANAGER AND OWNER….TRAIN YOUR STAFF TO BE FRIENDLY BE PATIENT AND MORE AWARE TO SOCIETY NEEDS. ESPECIALLY THIS LADY WHO JUST FROWNS A LOT.#...
Read moreWent there today to get a deli sandwich premade and served myself a container of macaroni salad. Macaroni salad said 3.49 lb. Upon check out the clerk, a Hispanic man in his 40's in customer service section was about to charge me 6 dollars for less than a lb of macaroni salad. I've been there twice now because nearby I'm staying with a friend and I've never seen a more pathetic, unappealing food bar. Fried chicken seemed old, two days old and dried out. No one tosses the salads and so they all develop an unappealing stale look due to no movement. Like cement that doesn't keep turning, just hardens from the air. The man wasn't rude I'll give him that but definitely incompetent. The faces of employees are miserable and I don't believe they have any good leaders in management helping to boost moral, or even inform the employees that a "hello" "how're you?" smile, and "have a nice day" goes a long way to establishing whether customers return. Considering their over priced items, sale items past expiration date, and lack of quality food at the food bar, I wouldnt doubt this store turns into snoyhea store some time sooner than later. They take advantage of their location (like most valley cottage food establishments) by bslibelie they are the only nearest grocery in the town.. meanwhile a five minute ride to ShopRite will save you much money, and perhaps trips to the bathroom or doctor by purchasing...
Read moreI went there to check it out since they were close to the library and had to grab a few things, but the grocery store barely had any workers to ask for help or guidance so you were on your own to find anything. Moreover, please be aware that there are bunch of signs that were very unwelcoming at door which was very concerning about the security in this store. Additionally, any employee that you do see will act like they don't see you and won't help at all. They had a very small section of produce and their produce didn't look flesh. In addition, I was told that this store had a good hot bar but the hot bar was very small, had little options, and the food looked stale. I wish grocery stores would stop having hot bars if they are just going to let the food sit there all day because, it has to be some type of food safety regulation that food should refreshed after an amount of time and covered when warmed. Moreover the aisles weren't really clear on where items were so I had to go through a couple of aisles to find the items that I needed. The only highlight was I was able to get out fast since they had self checkout so I rang up my items and...
