Valley Cottage Deli & Catering — Restaurant in Town of Clarkstown

I’ve grown up in Rockland my whole life also Valley cottage and strange an hour I never went here before but know that I I have a reason to be close in the morning and evening I have stopped by mornings are the best.

Although I live in Suffern which I have to admit I have some of the best breakfast delis in the county including bagel train and bagel brothers this is a charming place and it’s surprisingly slow with not too long of a wait.

Very well stashed with all sorts of great goodies muffins great sandwiches good coffee no complaints anywhere and their breakfast sandwiches were fantastic and fast!!

Your food is either going to look like it came from an exceptional deli or a freaking gas station depending on which of their many employees make your order. There is no consistency between one day and the next. One day your BLT comes on a nice toasted kaiser roll, the next day its on two soggy pieces of wonder bread, no joke. One day your italian hero has tons of meat, the next one has no meat like they are pranking you. They seriously need to sit everyone around a table and demonstrate how things should be made across the menu and stop hiring kids who compile random ingredients and then look you in the eye and take your money while bagging up your garbage. The food is well made and tastes pretty good overall. The staff is relatively engaging and friendly and you can order ahead via phone and text. The main, serious issue are the prices; all items are overpriced, and they nickel and dime you for little extras. A salad is nearly $9 and comes with a fork, a napkin, and 1 dressing packet (not large enough on average). An extra dressing packet costs you an extra $0.50. Paying extra for the little, extra things are small occurrences that leave a bad taste in a customer's mouth.
