If I could leave zero stars, I would.
I wasnât planning on writing a reviewâhere in Rockland, reputation and word of mouth carry far more weight. But after witnessing what appears to be fake, duplicate, and even impersonated reviews posted by this business in an attempt to cover up their behavior at an event I hosted this weekend, I felt compelled to speak up.
What pushed me over the edge was seeing a response to a negative review left by some of my guests, written as if I had posted itâstating, âI booked the wrong date⌠it was my error and I paid for my mistake.â Let me be very clear: I did not write that. If a business has to go this far to manipulate public perception, it speaks volumes.
Now for the actual experience:
This past weekend, I hosted a graduation party for my daughter. I initially booked Sweet Guy Ice Cream once before in April 2024 for my daughterâs birthday and was already disappointed back thenâthe owner didnât have most of the flavors advertised, and when I asked for one myself, he snapped at me rudely saying âI already told you that flavor was not available.â I brushed it off and paid for the service.
For this June event, I gave the business another shot. I called ahead, and the owner agreed to âsqueeze us inâ at 4:30 PM, but said I had to book immediately using a link he texted me. He instructed me to choose only the 4:30 slot and select âFriends and Family,â even though the link showed other times.
On the day of the event, I kept the kids ready and waited. 4:30 passedâno truck. After two missed calls and a voicemail, the owner finally returned my call saying he had no record of my booking. After reminding him of our conversation, he said he could come by but needed to leave quickly for a 5 PM event. When he arrived, things escalated quickly.
He became agitated when he saw I only paid a deposit (his site didnât allow anything else), then claimed I booked a weekday rate when I shouldâve paid a weekend rate. I reminded him he sent me the booking link, and even showed it to him on my phone. Still, he raised his voice, banged his hand on the truck counter, turned red in the face, and argued in front of children. My husband stepped in and told him to leave. No one wants to pay a business after being yelled at in front of their guests.
To make matters worse, the truck drove off with kids still lined up, disappointed and confused. All of this couldâve been avoided with a simple, respectful conversationâbut instead, we were met with aggression.
The final straw? Today (two days after my event), I received a threatening voicemail and text from the owner demanding that I have guests remove their reviews within 48 hours or heâd release video footage (which, ironically, we also have from multiple angles including our security system) and my name publicly and take âlegal action.â All of this⌠over $200?
This business does not deserve your time, money, or trustâespecially when children are involved. Choose another vendor. There are many wonderful, professional small businesses in Rockland County. Sadly, this is not...
Read moreWe attended a party that was supposed to be a joyful event, especially for the childrenâuntil this vendor completely ruined the vibe. My child, like many others, was excited and waiting in line for ice cream, only to end up red-faced and disappointed, asking me why the âice cream man was yelling.â
The man showed up 40 minutes late with no apology, then immediately started arguing with the host over the payment balanceâin full view of over 15 children and their families. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. Apparently, he sent the wrong booking link and then refused to honor the pricing on the very link he provided. Instead of resolving the issue calmly, he escalated it, raised his voice, and when another family member tried to step in just to make peace and pay the balance, he yelled at her too.
He repeatedly stated he âdidnât careâ about our concerns because he was running late for another event. If that was the case, maybe he shouldnât have shown up late to begin withâor better yet, not taken on a booking he clearly couldnât handle. The lack of accountability, basic manners, and customer service was staggering.
He ultimately drove off in a huff without serving a single scoop and is now refusing to refund the deposit.
My child left with no ice cream and a ton of questions about why the âice cream guy was so mean.â So hereâs the truth: that sweet guy is not sweet at all. By no means should...
Read moreThis is the most unprofessional experience I have ever had. This man was booked for a party and when he arrived (40 minutes late), he began to argue with my sister and I regarding the balance. As he and my sister were discussing the issue, he began to raise his voice and all of this was in front of a line of over 15 children and parents who were patiently waiting for their ice cream. He provided my sister with the wrong link when booking and then blamed her and would not honor the price on the link he sent nor the discount code my sister had. I attempted to walk up to them to diffuse the situation since he was now yelling at my sister and she walked away to avoid meeting his energy and my intent was to just pay the balance as I did not feel the yelling was appropriate in front of the kids and he begins to yell at me being extremely rude. He continued to stress he âdid not careâ what our points were because he was late to another event. This is not our problem. He couldâve absolutely declined the booking if he was overbooked and if he was late maybe it had to do with the fact he showed up 40 mins late to us in the first place. Maybe this owner needs a class in time management, scheduling and customer service before he continues to accept bookings. He sped off without providing any service and is refusing to refund the deposit. BEWARE! And...
